I never thought that Joe-D had an actual interest in him, but there's a paragraph in this article (NBA free agents: Portland Trail Blazers considering New York Knicks forward David Lee - ESPN) that suggests otherwise. Maybe we could pull a Rip for Lee sign and trade!? I'd prefer Chandler/a shot at Bosh/Mare next off-season, but this wouldn't be too bad. I thought that Lee was a little too short to play center, but he's listed as a 6-9 center-forward. He's got hops as well (...remember when he won the mcdonald's all-american game dunk contest?).

    C: Lee, Dyess
    PF: Villanueva, Maxiel
    SF: Prince, Daye
    SG: Gordon, Afflalo
    PG: Stuckey, Bynum

that'd be a pretty complete team!

    Also nice looking roster there!

Well, New York just drafted Jordan hill and they just got Darko(lol). I don't know who would be saving more cap if a sign and trade were to happen, but if it is going to happen, I would assume NY would sign Lee to at least a 12mill deal and they would be receiving Rips 10.8mill deal just to get a little extra cap space for the LeBron sweepstakes '10. Wouldn't that be a little over paid though?

I thought Knicks want the Capp Spayce for the next year's FA crop. Why would they want to take on Rip's contract?

Agreed, people thought Chauncey couldn't play after the playoffs exit vs Boston but he proved many wrong.

And the Winner IS................Mikhail!!!!!!!!, no way the Knicks take on Rip's contract. Lee is going to cost a team over $8M in the 1st year, which equates to about a 5yr/$48M contract. I think Walsh is going to match anything coming in cheaper than that.

good point - i guess we would have to get a third team and one of their expiring contracts involved in the deal...throw the knicks some picks or something to make it worth their while.
