Someone that can play the 3 off the bench and attack the rim. Sure Delfino is a better shooter, but we're still going to need hustle off the bench to win some games.

I liked Dupree when he was here because I thought he hustled and infused the team with a little energy. Delfino is capable of doing the same and he's WAY more talented.

I really thought that Mo would be that energy guy for us. I would have been fine from limited O from him. But I just wasn't impressed with his D.

I find Delfino has really improved his defensive game. He really hustles out there (the rare time he's actually out there) and has gotten much better at staying in front of his man and getting to loose balls.

Dupree... been there, done that. If Delfino can find the right attitude and if Flip can find him some @#$% playing time, CD might be that guy for us.

by now dupree would take the few left over minutes from Amir and Jmax. I truly hope Flip is brought on for insurance a la dale davis.

Delfino is one of the few good defenders we have off the bench now and we'll need it.

Dupree had a bad year in Minn, barely got off their bench.

Delfino's defense was very bad in his first year. He worked on it and it improved. I would not yet call it good, but perhaps throw it in the average category. I think he can now be trusted on the defensive end, for the most part.

How would you categorize Chauncey, Rip, and Tayshaun defensively?

As individual defenders, I would say Chauncey and Rip are average and Tay is above average. The Piston guards really struggle keeping quick, penetrating guards in front of them. I think the Pistons have played good team defense for the last few years, going all the way back to Carlisle. I think solid team defense will continue, even without Ben.

Man you guys jumped all over me for that "Tayshaun Prince Inured!" thread. This is just as bad.

Yeah, makes ya wonder why the Wolves made that deal... that guy never got a chance... it'd be nice if Joe turns this pick into one of his sleepers or a chip for a trade.
This could end up like another late first rounder next year (or 2008)

Chauncey is a great defender on the Baron Davis's of the NBA, but there are not that many big pG's in the NBA right now and Chauncey just isn't quick enough for the small PG's.

Rip is one of the fastest guys in the NBA so he can stick on guys, but he's pretty skinny so he can't gaurd strong SG's very well.

Tay can shut down a jumpshooter without a problem, but if a quick guy is his matchup he has a tougher time.

Delfino SHUT DOWN Wade and Pierce. He has potential.

I dunno Himat, the game I saw, Billups couldn't stop BD. Arroyo was a lot worse. I think maybe Delonte West is more Billups cover.

Dozero is either a genius or a psychic. Take your pick! The Pistons just signed Ronald Dupree. :twitch:

Just checked it. Davis was 12-34 and averaged 14 ppg against us. Thats pretty good defense by Chauncey, but yet again it's the midgets that get him.
