This thread is the result of someone misreading what Delfino said. He was not injured, and he clearly said so. He simply sat out a bit as a precautionary measure when the knee bothered him a bit-which is exactly how you are suppose to treat such things. Be cautious, smart.

Thank you for clearing that up. I was scratching my head everytime someone posted new stats of CD's performance in Argentina's games.

Yeah, did you see Delfino's numbers against real opposition? Are we ready to crown him a star yet?

Let's be realistic here. He is somewhere in between what he did to Uruguay and what he did the US Dream Team.

If you put Tashaun on the Arg team, Kobe would have shut him down too.

Actually, I think Tay could post Kobe if he really pushed the issue. I will agree that he'd score in low teens, but he'd get points and boards.

He'd be mobbed if he tried an isolation post up against the US Team. Especially if he was successful once.

    Rebounds? Against Howard?

Why would Tay (SF) have to score against Kobe (SG) and rebound against Howard (C)?

In the post? He'd have to score against both and then rebound against both. Howard is blocking a lot of shots off the ball.

I think we all want a lot more from Tay than the very solid player he is on many nights.

Who's crowning Delfino a Star?? He had some good games which considering he's still young and maturing as a player is a great sign. 20/11 games don't fall in your lap no matter what level you play at. Will he drop that in the NBA? No. But its good to see constant improvement with some hope that he can carry that over to the NBA. For another team that is.

Maybe we should've held onto Delfino until now or a little later to trade him. With his international showing his stock looks to have risen...

I think Joe Dumars did well getting 2 draft picks for Delfino.

you're going to need a few extra 2nd rounders to package with Flip...
NAz might take a 1st though.

Kobe completely shut down Barboso, I doubt Tay would do much better. Kobe, if he really wanted to expend the energy on D, would be one of, if not, the best defender in the league.

Good call. Minnesota only got 1 first rounder and 2 second rounders for Rick Mahorn after he won a title.

I'm pretty sure the folks who play against him already know Kobe as one of the toughest defensive matchups in the league.

Even if he wanted to expend a lot of energy on D he couldn't. He has a lot of pressure on him offensively as well.
