In light of recent events, would you be open to this trade:

Kenyon Martin for Rip and Max

Now before you go crazy, here me out. The majority of folks seem to think Rip needs to go and Max is the odd man out. It also seems that the majority are not too happy about our front line.

This solves both. You want an enforcer in the paint off the bench that can (for the most part) get up and down. You can pair him with Wilcox or Brown. The 4 is not the dominant position in the East, so we'd likely get some nice production from him.

This also frees up over $17 million of cap in 2011 (don't even start about 2010 - we're not in that race)

Not to mention the possible trade bait he's be in 2010.

And, Rip get's to play with Billups again. How about that!

Start:
Stuck, Gordon, Prince, Villanueva and Ben/Brown

Bench:
Bynum, Washington (2 signed from last year), Daye/Summers, Martin, Wilcox

That's alley oops city.

I like the idea, becouse we will get rid of 2 huge contracts and like you said have a trade bait next season. In the short run Denver wins, but in the long run RIP will be overpaid and no one will want him.

Put Tay and Melo in the package and it's a deal.

please, but your thread's headline is badly misleading. There are plenty of threads to where you can post your realGM fantasy.

With JR's recent troubles the Nuggets may believe he just can't be counted on and be looking for some reassurance at the two spot.

Nothing about his recent troubles are new. It's all old cases.

If this rumor holds any ground:

Stuckey/Bynum
Gordon/Washington
Prince/Daye/Summers
Villanueva/Jeberko
KMart/Wallace/Brown

Good on paper..
Great if we can deal Tayshaun

Denver has been Joe's favorite dance partner

I'd shoot this trade down in a heartbeat!:6shoot:

K-Mart? Don't want...

I thought we were looking for a center? Not an injury prone PF who needs a Jason Kidd kind of point guard to be his best....

I agree. I would be so dissapointed if we traded for him. I think we have helped out Denver enough during this rebuilding phase.

I'm ok with Dozero's proposal... his logic is sound.
Kmart played well last year... moving Rip & Max's contract sets us up to be players again in the market (trades & Freeagency)... it also changes the SG imbalance.
Gordon & Stuckey is solid at SG... Stuckey & Bynum at PG gives Bynum more of a shot... just pick up a vet min at PG.
Kmart & CV is better than CV & Max.
This could be a move that improves chances of landing a future 5.

Nothing wrong with going against the majority.... :mob-smiley:

Maybe. But did he have more or less techs the Rip or Sheed? Or are his antics more in the Garnett realm? Showboating, Mean Mugging and Talking Junk.

The way I see it is, we're not ready for a title run. And we have NO chance of being one this year. The best options seem to be those that keep us a respectable playoff team both presently and in the near future. Is Martin the answer? No. But I do think he'd give us a good presence on the floor as well as trade/cap flexibility.

Now. As I said a while back, I'm for keeping Rip (if Ben is content coming off the bench). And if Gordon can run the point (as the articles claim), even better. Rip is a GREAT assist man for a 2 guard so I see it as a possibility.

A good presence on the floor? LOL. I agree we should do this if we want to make sure the Nuggets make it to the Finals, no other reason.
