I guess it does seem that way, he did after all accept the trade of Wakentien, since he was the architect of the trade. Not Joe Dumars!

Wow. Talk about a slap in the face. Just adds insult to injury, doesn't it?

In trade, there is not a winner and a loser. Both parties got the guy (or cap space) they wanted.

Unfortunately, what Joe didn't want (or expect from the trade) was a title run.

Who do you give it to? There was not a whole lot of movement this year. Only thing is they talk about all the cap space Denver cleared but that only does good if its before the FA signing period so it did not help them.

So now Denver fans can watch their team lose in the Conf Finals. Probably be thrilled if it went 6.

Their main goal was to get out of the 1st round.

Exactly!!! Never understood why people are obsessed with finding winners and losers in trades.

Denver made many changes apart from the trade. They got nene back healthy from cancer, signed dahntay jones ( shut down chris paul completly), chris andersen, balkman and petro are all new players.
Basically 6/12 of the team is different then last season. And all what they improved is 4 games over the last year.
If the circus didnt happen at detroit , warkentien wasnt going to win it.

CB would have not made the difference in going for an extended playoff run. Yes, the 1st round match up would have been different but the Pistons were not serious contenders. Also, he has a fresh start in Denver, so his performance was kicked up a notch or two. I can't shoot Joe for taking a chance, though I wish we had gotten more production from AI.

If Dumars only wanted to dump the cap space then how come he didn't just give CB away at the end of the season?

Why even bother with TLM if he knew all along that it wouldn't work? What was there to gain?

I think he thought TLM would fit. I've got no problem with him making that mistake. It could have worked and IMO change was (and is still) necessary.
My problem is that he is keeping Curry and IMO ducking responsibility.

Also, why would he have signed Rip Hamilton to a 3 year extension right before dumping Chaunce for cap space reasons?

Getting 9 of 30 votes (30%) isn't all that much of a ringing endorsement. Danny Ferry came in second with seven votes.

Based on the Bulls / Celtics series I think you can make a case that Paxson with the Sacramento trade ought to have come higher than tied for 4th.
