Sounds as though this may be a precursor to a trade. We are now at 14 including Chucy who does not have a guaranteed contract.

    Strange move to me.

Maybe Joe felt that our defense looked eery and decided to facilitate a trade. I can't see Chucky coming aboard, we have to many folks who can play the guard position.

I agree this looks like a pre-trade waive. Clear a roster spot by getting rid of a non-guaranteed contract. Otherwise makes no sense to waive a cheap, young athletic swing man for no reason. DW could only help or waive towels.

Let's get rid of the athletic defensive players and keep the slow footed PG Chuckers... :hmmm:

Walter Sharpe just got waived by the Bucks. I assume Washington was let go to make room for Ol' Sharpey. :eyebrows:

I wonder if Trent Plaisted's back has healed quicker than expected.

Will Blalock was waived by the Nets last week.
    [/STRIKE]

Ronald Dupree will be a Piston (again) by the end of today.

read the latest from "silvertongue". He claims that Atkins, if he stays has more to offer than Washington.

    Interesting.

After watching him, he looked very expendable, but I still expected him to hang around.

Agree that it must be a prelude to a master stroke from JB.

With Bynum, Stuckey, Hamilton, and Gordon already in the rotation, the fifth guard on Detroit is going to get little to no playing time. It probably makes more sense to have a veteran like Atkins in that spot than another young guy with dreaded potential.

If someone gets injured, Chucky can step in and run the show on a short-term basis. Chucky can certainly give Bynum and Stucky a few pointers. Finally, Chucky can heat it up once in a while from 3-point land. He could be a situational player occasionally.

no sense in spending that extra $500,000. Money saving move, probably nothing more. A lot of teams are flying under the 15-man radar this year.

You guys don't get it. Chucky will stay.

But not to play. He's the next coach in waiting.

    The new Michael Curry.

CA is much more likely to be needed this year than Deron.

On the other hand, if Stuckey and/or Bynum go down, then we should shift the tank into full speed ahead. Starting Kwame at PG then would be the best long-term strategy... for the draft pick.
