Re: Lions almost got Jay Cutler for #1 and #20?

Yeah it really seems like Jay Cutler really wants out....what a cry baby. This could work for the Lions. Although it seems he really liked playing for Mike Shanahan.

the last I heard Den was trying to stroke his ruffled ego.
However Dens new coach seems to be looking for someone diff at QB. I say do it with the 20th. Cut is like a young Favre

It really seems going 0-16 might have netted them a better QB then Stafford/Sanchez.

Maybe let the guy play for more than 3-4 years before you attack his lack of playoff wins. The guy is a stud and with time he will be a slinger like Favre but he needs time and tools, YO!

Trade is fine with me. He will do one of the following.

    1. Win games in Detroit and take us to the playoffs in 3 years.
    - help us to attract quality free agents.
    - become a team leader who inspires great play.

    2. Become a below average QB without the protection and coaching he had with the Broncos.
    - become part of a long line of QBs with potential who let the franchise down.
    - drag the team morale down due to the fact that he wasn't able to succeed.

HIS move...I don't think he'd accept our challenge.

Here is Chauncey's point of view

"""""I love Jay Cutler — I love Jay Cutler," the Nuggets all-star guard said. "I've been a huge Jay Cutler fan since the first day he's been here. Hopefully they can work it out. But you never know."
Unlike your average bar stool Broncos fan, C-Bill can relate, in some regard, to Jay-C demanding a trade from the Broncos. Billups has been traded like a Topps card in his NBA career, four times early in his career as he tried to establish himself. He knows the feeling of not being wanted, which is especially tough when you're a high draft pick with equally high hopes.
"I see how he feels, especially for the first time," Billups said. "I can see him being frustrated. But it's a business, man, and a lot of people say that and it sounds like cliche, but in actuality, it is a business. When you learn that, the next few times it doesn't hurt as bad. It's probably not personal."
Although Billups wants to see Cutler in a Broncos uniform, he also sees the team's side of things. "It's a tough situation," Billups said. "Say you know (you're in trade talks), and they don't get it done — now what do you do? If you don't know it, and then in the eleventh hour, they tell you, I can respect that and appreciate that. But it's tough." """

Cutler trying to sell his house?

L-O-L to the MAX! He really seems to be like a big baby. Way to act as the franchise player!

It is more to the story. The owner told Cutler everything was going to be the same with the offense after Shanahan was fired. Cutler's agent claims they were promised that the QB coach and the offensive coaches would be kept. Denver hires this 32 year old coach that turns araound and blows everybody out and then says he doesn't like Cutler and wants his own QB behind the scenes. Cutler gets wind of these and then decides he doesn't want to be in Denver. I don't blame Cutler for being upset, but he should have handled it a better way.

There is no way he is staying in Denver. A trade will happen.

Going to the Detroit Lions would be like cutting off his nose to spite his face.
