A nutless chimp could make that trade.
I didn't know that chimps ate nuts...
Lions "war room" on draft day...
True, but, when your agent calls the owner a liar and the owner calls Cutler an unhappy camper comparing him to 2 year old I don't think that the relationship can be healed.
I can see why he would like Shanahan's offense, he was/is close to be top 5 in QBs that are playing RIGHT NOW, but I see this is more on the owners' fault? Who fires such a great coach as Mike Shanahan?
And I don't get ALL of the blame on Josh McDaniels either. I mean he was the offensive coordinator of the best scoring team in NFL history. Sure he might not have Tom Brady and Randy Moss to work with, but this guy was also responsible for DEVELOPING Matt Cassel. I can see why he might perfer to have someone who KNOWS his system. Yes, he did fail on lying to Jay Cutler, but it really seems like they've lost it in Denver.
Yeah, I don't think so either. But he's got to have other options besides The Lions, don't you think?
Let's hope not.
You gotta laugh at how hard this guy is trying to get to Detroit and in ignominious end to his career.
I hear the Jets are also in the running.
Last week or so... Josh McDaniels said that Jay Cutler is their QB.

Well..now this week it really seems Jay Cutler is 100% not going to play in Denver.

They even took him off their depth chart!

I am not sold on the kid.... and with the lack of a line we have... I'm really not sold on him.
Denver has always had a solid line, and a great running game to take the pressure off the kid. Plus if he gets this childish at something how is he going to deal with the mess that is Detroit football.
I agree. That first round draft pick is looking a little better to the Broncos now that they are qbless. Cutler may wish he had just kept his mouth shut and remembered it's just a business. What a terrible price to pay to have to qb the Lions. I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy.
Bears get him.
Broncos agree to trade Cutler to Chicago Bears - NFL - Yahoo! Sports
Wow, they gave up quite a bit to get him. I'm glad we didn't land him if that was the asking price.
The Bears have about 20 QBs better than the Lions', and yet they are still trying to get better.
Agreed. Cutler's not good enough to command Orton and 2 number ones...1 number one would have been as high as makes sense. Dumb deal by da Bears.
Yea, the Broncos GM gets kudos for pulling this off. I'm amazed they got so much in return.
They also upgraded from a 5th to a 3rd round pick. A 3rd rounder is nothing to sneeze at either.
Agreed. Considering they were backed into a corner, they got a heck of a good deal for him.
I totally agree with you on this one. I don't know how many times in the past 10 years I've read or heard about someone who was a free agent or wanted to be traded and I thought, "he'd be a great fit for the Lions!" Then they sign with someone else while we settle for the guy nobody else would have signed. I'm not saying Cutler would have been the answer to our pryers but what got me thinking about this was the OTHER Chicago pick-up..........Orlando Pace. Don't get me wrong, Dude probably ain't as good as he used to be but I'll bet he's head and shoulders better than any tackle we have under contract now. Why couldn't we have signed him to protect the QB we'll be drafting at #1. No, no not the Lye-downs. We'll draft the wrong rookie tackle to protect our rookie QB and BOTH careers will be ruined!
I'm sorry but LMAO @ the Bears. Desperate Much?????
Bears might have that "defense" that got them to the Superbowl three years ago. But this is hilarious.
Let's see how this "Franchise QB" is going to be when he doesn't have the same offense that Mike Shanny was able to put together.
Does anyone even know who's Chicago Go-To-Guy WR?
Sure he has Matt Forte, but seriously?
Jay Cutler has two years left in his contract....Chicago better sign him to a long extension or they gave those draft picks for nothing.
I can honestly say, I will not draft Jay Cutler in FF because he won't have his WRs Corps that he had in Denver.
Orton was a pretty decent fantasy QB last year with the samw tools. Having a RB like Forte can not be underestimated. He opens up the field for Cutler to pass the ball to Mickey Mouse if he needs to. Not saying top WRs aren't important but as long as they can catch the ball Cutler should be a decent Fantasy QB. This does up the value of Olsen IMO. He is a budding TE and the addition of a rocket arm will only make him better.
