I can't wait for practice to start. I'm bet there are going to be some fierce battles between Rip and Gordon to see who can throw the best timed post entry pass followed by a hard cut through the lane so Wilcox has time to get some shots off.
I have been having fun the last two days and didn't check PF or any news updates at my twitter address and missed the news of this signing until tonight. I like this move...I think Wilcox is an upgrade over both Max and Amir. ...especially if he can provide daily-double-doubles. This is a win-win situation as long as Wilcox gets 20+ mins a game. I was worried about our rebounding and this will help out some. Yep there can possibly still be a late summer or fall trade involving Rip or Tay, but I like the 3 FA Joe has signed and the potential his three main draft picks have already showed us glimpses of. Adding Ben or maybe even Leon Powe later will give us the added defensive presence need to make us competitive enough for 45 wins and a first round win.
Wow, I'm gone for a few days and Chris Wilcox signs with the Pistons and I have eleven pages of posts to wade through? Bombshell!!! What a lopsided strategy. 1) Get the big expensive guys 2) Tank to draft the big expensive guys There are a lot more possibilities out there than that. That's so cliche. We could have had Josh Smith? BMC BMC BMC BMC......... I love this post - love it. Yessir!
Really? What do you suggest for the frontcourt? Unless you're of the opinion that CV/CW is it . . . ? Thank You.
Dre, I say if Wilcox can put up a double-double it would be a major surprise. In his best season he averaged 14 and 8. If he can at least re-produce that, I'd be majorly happy. But I do agree that he should be an upgrade, as long as his mind is into the game.
So I think that makes for $55,411m committed in salaries. That's assuming Daye is signed for the midpoint of the rookie scale and another rook is signed for the minumum. Wilcox makes 12 players with two other promising rookies sitting out there.
There may be two more rookies to sign. Also, looks like they might sign a cheap big for the veteran's minimum.
Aren't they receiving some sort of injury exception for Yao being out next year? I thought that I read something about that.
