Maybe someone who lives in Michigan can send Dumars a huge box of popcorn, and while he is distracted, pretend to be him and do some trading? Surely we could get rid of Tay and Daye?
This idea has some merit. The first step would be to create a diversion (huge box of popcorn may do the trick) and then have someone get their hands on Joe's Blackberry. His Blackberry would then be replaced with a "replica" Blackberry in which all messages would be intercepted. Fake messages would be created by a "man in the middle" to make Dumars believe his Blackberry was working. In the meantime, the real Blackberry would be turned over to an ad hoc special forces group created by Rascoe that would be in charge of wheeling and dealing a new roster.
Anyone watched the six parts of those videos on NBA.com/pistons named "The State of Pistons" or something like that?.. I watched part 4, 5 and 6 .. And it's about the 2012-13 season. It's good, you have Dumars, Frank, Monroe, Gores and some more people I didn't knew, all sitting like in a media conference and ansewring questions. It kind of.. gives you that hope that you know that you don't have to have because you felt it before, seasons ago, and then you felt dissapointed.. yes, It gives you that kind of hope that you want to have but you know you shouldn't .. (It's really weird being a Pistons fans this days.. right?)
I watched all six parts. Great idea by Gores - replicating an open forum he may have to stakeholders in his business and something I have not heard of being done at other franchises. But it maybe lacked a little execution. The idea is obviously trying to get the fans more engaged, but it felt like there was too much hype though, and not enough discussion for the length it went on. Though some thought went into picking the questions from a number of others I think, so at least they were relevant. The one thing I took away from it - Gores, his partners, the Palace CEO, Joe, Frank and Greg (there for the players) really seem to be on the same page. It didn't seem just drummed up for the media and fans. I've never been to Detroit, or the Palace (something I will rectify in the next few years), but I would love to hear some locals thoughts on how things have changed at the Palace in just this season past? Anything noticeable/good/bad?
There seems to be a lot of emphasis being placed on halftime entertainment. I can speak for anyone else but I'd rather see more energy put into improving the roster than providing a forum for MC Hammer to show the public that he still sucks just as bad in 2012 as he did in 1989.
Haha. Have been a couple of decent acts from what I have seen though - would have loved to seen the Pistons play and Black Sheep at halftime!
When Kuester was coaching I refused to give the Pistons a dime. With 14 SG's on the roster, no PG, a clueless coach, an even more clueless owner and Popcorn Dumards there was no way I was forking over a dime to support that Buffoonery! Then We finally got a REAL owner, A solid coach, Bought out Rip, Drafted a PG, Moved Stuckey OFF THE POINT! Found solid roles for everyone (Max and Jonas in particular) And after a 4-20 start we finished the season playing .500 basketball. I will now resume going to games. This upcoming season is all about whether or not the team can continue to play .500 ball like they did at the end of last season, if so, that's a win in my book. Roscoe said it earlier, this team is only 2 players away from competing and looking respectable again......1 of them is already on the roster (Ben Gordon) if he can get his stuff together. With Max and JJ I think we're solid at PF. If we can get a really good player on the wing, we're set! Next Summer we will have decent cap space to attract a really good free agent and that's without even having to amnesty anyone, using the amnesty rule I think we can land a real stud free agent.
Glad to see you back KG. Although, you're a bit out of shape. What with posting we're all set at PF with JJ and all that.
I didn't necessarily mean that there wasn't room for upgrade, but reality says that you probably won't have a 5 All Stars. I think both Knight and Monroe can be All Star Caliber players, when you have an all-star PG and C I believe you need the 3rd piece of the puzzle to be on the wing, when that's the case all you need is a serviceable PF, JJ is more than serviceable in that scenario as is Max.
Can't argue with you there. We do need a good wingman. I just hope that whoever we draft/acquire for that will actually get to play and that's a risky proposition given that Prince is still on the roster. BTW, are you watching Kawhi Leonard? The Spurs did a great job working a rookie into the rotation. He's playing really well.
I like Leonard, but he woudn't solve our issues, he a great piece to play with 3 HOF'ers but he plays off of other players, he's great 4th of 5th option. Strictly in terms of potential we have 2/3 of a Big-3, we need 1 more STUD!
