Detroit Pistons: the 2012-13 season

As much as I wanted 'em to tank the last two years, I'm proud of the Pistons for playing to win.
That being said; I hope that victories are measured in player development rather than wins and losses this year. I want all 4 rooks to have a butt-load of opportunities to learn by doing. I'd rather see a bunch of players learning from their rookie mistakes than 42 MPG of Tayshaun Prince pump fakes.

I really want to protect this lottery protected 2013 draft pick.

So, you want them to tank this year? [insert stirring the pot icon that I can't find anymore]

I don't want 'em to tank.
I want 'em to play hard and develop the young foundation of the future irregardless of wins & losses.

Had the Pistons not signed Gordon and CCG following the season they let Billups, Sheed, Dyess et al go they would not have been tanking when they lost, they would have just been bad.

They could have been rotating a cast of Walker Ranger Jr's and this Russian Ukranian guy in and out looking for gold.

So happy to see the release of the season program and see the Pistons are playing in Europe in January!! Will only be the second time I've got to see them play live and at such an interesting time in the franchise - I feel blessed!!!!

Decent opponent in the Knicks that are not unbeatable either.

Apparently London will be the spot, but I'll be booking my flight to wherever it is from Geneva as soon as I find out.

I think it was Ernie (...or Basketbills?) that referred to Kwame Brown as "Giant Turd" a couple years back when Brown was a Piston. That nickname stuck quite nicely and "GT" became part of the PF lexicon.

I actually like the name BOT better because it seems less disgusting than GT because Alexa032 uses it.

There was some article today about how BOT uses fan scorn as motivation. So, in a small way, we are helping the organization here.
