AUBURN HILLS, Mich.(AP) -- The Detroit Pistons have waived Maceo Baston, reducing their roster to 15 players.

The 33-year-old forward averaged 0.5 points, 0.5 rebounds and 3.5 minutes in five preseason games.

Baston played in 27 games with the Indiana Pacers last season and averaged 2.5 points and 1.9 rebounds in eight minutes.

The Pistons open the season Oct. 28 at Memphis.

Jonas has earned minutes with his effort on defense and rebounding. If Atkins and deron stays in roster,Rip trade logic is increasingly, 2 and 3 positions players stay, and maceo (power forward) is waived.

Another Wolverine who never matched the feats of the Fab Five and had to play in Europe or on the bench of the NBA teams he played for just to make a living.

I hope he got his Michigan degree and can now find a real gig or saved his money. At 33, this was probably his last shot in the bigs...

How are they going to replace that production? Dumards must have a trade in the works or he's lost his mind!

Don't give up hope. Like Capp Spayce, he may keep returning to our team to help us out.

Perhaps this waiver is all part of an elaborate sandbagging scheme. Teams will sleep on the Pistons now without Baston. Look for Joe D to re-sign Maceo post All-Star game in which it will be too late for Eastern Conference opponents to make a counter-move.
