Hey as usual my numbers were off.
Wings went from 9-8 to 6-5, doubt they catch Kings.

Mog, did you ever cream anybody coming across the middle?

Yeah, but it was as rare as a Wallace 3-pointer. But once in a blue moon it happened. :)

Wings lead Game #1 2-1 after 1 period. Phoenix is playing like a bunch of thugs.

Nice road win by the Wings tonight. (7-4) The second period was hockey at its best out there in the Arizona desert. Zett gets the hat trick (on an empty netter)

A lot of Wings fans in the house, but the only way you could tell was the arm cheering fans in the stands since the sound on Versus did not accentuate the sound well so you could not really hear who was getting the biggest cheers.

Just need to win the home ice games and the Wings may find themselves with highest seed if all of the top 4 get knocked out.....1 & 2 seeds Sharks and Black Hawks already down one game.

The NHL playoffs are really a second season. Edmonton advanced to the Cup Finals a few years ago as the 8th seed IIRC.

Hey, if you're laying on the puck, usually against the boards, and some guy comes in and starts jamming his stick into your ribs or mouth in Drapers case, shouldn't you get up and throw ?

Looks like we may be able to do it in six as Jimmy Howard has come up big the last two games.

In other news the Coyotes started selling tickets for the second round on Friday morning....over confidence can come back to bitecha...:)

I don't think it's a foregone conclusion that the Red Wings have this thing wrapped up. Remember last year against Shizzburgh? Let's not be over confident ourselves. :)

Also, I'm not sure it is over confidence on the part of the Coyotes to start 2nd round ticket sales now as much as it is standard operating procedure.

That being said, I do think the Wings will win the series.

Almost, but the Wings grabbed a late reviewed goal near the end of the game to make it 5-2 .....Coyotes...:yellowprison:

The wings lost this game in the first period when they could not capitalize on the three PP in the first 5 minutes and allowed that short handed goal to Coyotes.

Not sure if it took the momentum out of the wings, but there seem to be a lack of aggression during the three power play ops and they seem to be a step slow and not concentrating including letting the puck slip beyond the line at least a couple of times when they had the 5 on 3 advantage for over 50+ seconds.

I kind of had that feeling that once they blew those opportunities in addition to giving up the short hander, that they would not recover and sure enough Jimmy Howard got caught flat footed and a victim of a desperate team and one playing as if they had already won it.

We know what happen the last time the Wings played in a game 7

GO Wings!!! Win something for this city!!

The coach made an interesting comment after the game 3 lose, he was scared the team would come out slow because of the early start and quick turn around from the late start for game 2.... long flight.... and early start. I think that they had that happen again today to them.

I feel as confident as I was before this game that we'd win this series. Have to jump on them fast though in period one of game 7.
