My "Amir Sucks" thread starting window is open and waiting for the all-star break so I can smash the heck out of the "send" button.

He has some work to do.

I wouldn't be surprised if after this year, we give him a 6-7 million 1-year deal to recoup what he lost. He can stay on in a LH capacity (who BTW was killing it in the DEN game).

He will definitely help. But will he be enough to put us over Boston? Cleveland? Orlando?

    Atlanta? Hell, the Knicks??

I think they can compete with Cleveland, but not Boston.

I have complained about Dice, but after seeing Max and Amir flounder, am very enthusiastic to see him back in Detroit.

Sad to say he will be the only tested guy off the bench that MC can count on throughout the season. Need to another guy (younger) like him to have a shot at making a deep run.

I am more more positive on AA than Stuck, what's your thoughts?

I think that Arron comes off as a guy who takes the game very seriously.

I'm not sure Stuckey has that same drive. It takes a certain personality to be dominant.

All of these kids need to be locked in a gym all summer working on their games. Stuckey's jumpshot is embarrassing.

Yeah, I think even Ben Wallace had better form (and just as good a shooting percentage) when he went to the jumpshot.

    Stuckey's J:

When Sheed misses jumpshots, they are almost always close to going in. They hit 2 parts of the rim at least.

RS's are clanking. They are long, sideways, flat, forced.

But, he seems to be able to hit free throws at an 80% rate. He had that streak where he hit 34/35 in the playoffs, or something like that.

How many players in history have connected at 80% from the FT line and only 30% on jump shots?

I guess the point is that there seems to be some hope that there is something to work with there. He's coordinated, athletic, strong, and seems to have a good attitude. Maybe not as driven as Afflalo, but that why they were calling Afflalo Shobe.

But Stuckey's form is pretty poor. it's the kind of thing that you don't change if it's working. At this point, maybe they should break down his stroke a bit and see if they can get more out of his mechanics. From a total amateur's perspective, he seems to have too much left hand in his shot.

You can tell on the release that the left hand was involved too far into the stroke:

Here's the extreme opposite. Bird's left hand won't need to move forward:

Also, here is Ben Wallace's form. Notice how contorted he is. Impossible to be consistent from this position:

Stuck looks to have lost confidence in his stroke and isnt shooting in rythm. He is also playing with injured wrists since his run in with the WALL. Rips jumper is off too. I think he'll get it back. more than Rip has been effected by the trade. Stuck is now under pressure, lets see how he deals with being under the spotlight.( to quote Marinelli)

Actually, in the photo above, Stuckey's hands are in perfect position. That's the way the follow-thru is taught at clinics.
