    3 games out of the playoffs and we have to be honest now - it aint going to happen.

    2 games off the 8th worst record now too and so we are sitting in a position where more than ever in the past 6 seasons, it has been a total waste of time.

    This season came with so much promise and hope that we were finally turning it around. I am more angry and frustrated this year than any of the past 6. For this reason, I am giving up my long held anti-tanking stance. I would like to see them hang up the sneaks and go into full panzer mode to at least salvage a top pick in this deep draft.

    Send the guys off for surgery* and play our terrible bench scrubs in the hope of fooling some other GM that they are worth something so we can trade them at season's end.

    *Josh could have his 5-foot-plus jump shot amputated, BJ could get a right hand transplant and Monroe could see the Wiz of Oz about a (defensive) heart for his tin man defence.

    Indeed.

    Actually we are 4 games out of playoffs it seems like since Atlanta is 4 games ahead of us. For tanking, our main competition is Cleveland and New York; we're not going to outtank the rest. Also, we gotta keep a close eye on the Pelicans as they are barely ahead of us.

    Relax, this team will go on a 3 game run as soon as they start closing in on that 8th worst record.

    Here's our remaining schedule:
    @San Antonio
    @Houston
    New York
    Chicago
    @Minnesota
    @Boston
    Sacramento
    @Toronto
    Indiana
    @Denver
    @Suns
    @Clippers
    @Utah
    Cleveland
    Miami
    @Philadelphia
    Milwaukee
    @Indiana
    @Brooklyn
    Boston
    @Atlanta
    @Cleveland

    @Chicago
    Toronto
    @Oklahoma City

    Looking at this, tanking might be a better option for us right now. We have a lame duck coach, a lame duck GM, and no direction. Just make sure you lose all the bolded games.

    The sad part is, I don't see a scenario where we pick better than #8. At best, we get another one-dimensional player like Moose.

    I don't see any possible scenario where we make it to the second round.

    I'm not sure that we have to intentionally tank to lose the vast majority of these games.

    The following stretch should really break our spirits.

    IND
    @DEN
    @PHO
    @LAC
    @UTA

    No I say they try their best and see if they can build some chemistry for next year. Odds are that you are not going to find anything at 7 or 8 that you
    cant find in free agency. Besides If we draw top 3 then we still get to keep it.

    Just get it over with and give up the pick then find a new GM.

    If you finish 7th or 8th from the bottom, at least you are in the running for a top 3 pick.

    I thought about setting up a daily thread to monitor which 8th spot we are closest to but thought it was to early to presume that we were in tank mode

    I think I will wait until they return from their trip from Texas, look at their record and the other pretankers and start it then. That way as we motor through March we can determine if we should be cheering for losses or wins. As was noted we are 4 games out of the last playoff spot and 2 games out of the protected lottery pick (8th).

    I can tell you for sure that locally, the traditional Laker fans want wins, but deep down in side they are cheering at all losses hoping for the next Kobe in this summers draft.. They are currently in last place in the west and have the sixth worst record overall.....so while Laker haters are cheering their demise, the real Laker fans are cheering each loss hoping for at least a top 3 pick. ....and we don't want that to happen those guys get back to the finals before we do....

    Kind of reminds me of the 'win over the crowd' needle in Guitar Hero. And I can't tell if I should boo or cheer...

    YES!

    Palace improvement ideas:
    Idea #1: Install invisible fence on the 3pt lines and put a shock collar on Smith's cup.
    Idea #2: Hire JJ's dad as strength & conditioning coach.
    Idea #3: Put London double-decker bus stickers on the Palace backboards to increase Kyle's shooting percentage.

    I wonder if Smart could fall to 7th or 8th. Otherwise, Tyler Ennis and James Young are the closest players that fit our needs and are projected to go in our range if we keep the pick. In the second round, we could maybe get Glenn Robinson III or Thanasis Antetokounmpo (brother of the famous Milwaukee Buck).

    Gores would have had to already relieved Joe of is duties or designated someone else to make a lottery selection. No way Joe takes a local guy like Little Dog III...

    This is something I think of when i'm at work, every morning... I chat about it via whatsapp with a friend who is a fan of Orlando Magic. He desperately wants new york to lose because some draft pick from denver o ny will end up being from Orlando. And I want Cleveland and New York to win (which seems impossible this days).

    So, I give it plenty of thoughts. We need Adam Silver on our say on draft lottery day. There is no way we get into playoffs and there is no way either that new york and cleveland get better than us.

    I'm sad.
