Who were we honestly going to get in this draft?

Doug McBuckets or Nik Stauskus. So KCP with no defense? Fantastic.

The best thing we could have done with that pick is traded for a half decent wing player

    Make us believe SVG

With better coaching last year and the exact same roster, we would have landed a pick that we would have had to give to charlotte... so basically, we just didn't get rewarded for tanking. Back to where we should be at this point in time.

And I suppose it frees us up to trade (god forbid) our next 1st rounder a year sooner. Doesn't sound nice right now, but you never know when a trade situation might arise where it would come in handy.

    So what.
Cleveland is a number 1 on the farm list (we don't need a coach the second time around)
Another accumulation number (4,12) are the Magic (the ultimate organic farm)
The 76's (3-10) round out the list and should think about screwing the Lakers.
Lakers miss Exum, but may hit pay-dirt in Smart and then a lot of Love
Bucks take Embiid, and say goodbye to Love
    Sac comments, "what, me worry"

In fairness to Joe, the Pistons have only drafted 8th or 9th the last 6-7 years so how was he supposed to know this would happen?

This would be morbidly funny if Joe were still around, but it sucks now that he's gone.

The Pistons sponsored by Tom Gores never used their amnesty.

In the age of smart management the Pistons gave away a young, cheap asset instead of swallowing some fake money.

Bad things happen to bad teams.

My beef is we wasted the Amnesty clause. If we use it on Gordon we never use the pick. If we use it on CV we probably keep Gordon since we have the extra money.

The D etroit haters living in Cleveland are all smiles tonight. Their BB team jumps ahead us to take the # 1 pick and kick us right into the disaster zone.

Indians get a walk off homer last night to beat the Tigers and then jump on Verlander tonight to knock him out and grab a W. Yeah we own them for sure...

Man, I love Mitchell but the guy isn't a high level basketball player. He is all ability, no talent.

    I don't know how to approach this. Firstly, the salary doesn't work out, so its a no go. ($11m + 2.6 v $7m + 600k)

Secondly, that trade favours us. There is no way it happens

I can't get that freakin' Kenny Loggins song out of my head!

Can someone make a video using that song with clips of Smith and Jennings doing stupid things mixed in with shots of Joe dozing off in the stands?

Now that we lost the draft pick does anyone know if SVG's philosophy is to just make trades for the sake of making a trade or does it have to benefit the team?

It would have been awesome to see Joe sitting at the dais last night just to see the look on his face when the Hornets envelope got picked. I bet he would have been wondering who the Hornets were and if it was still 1995.

Another issue with Charlotte getting our pick is that we can't even play the always fun "what if" game with their draft pick.
I fully expect Jordan to draft some kid that none of the other GMs had even considered.

Is there another Zeller available in this year's draft?

I thought that he fleeced him in the Ben Gordon for Maggette deal.
At the time, Joe traded one of the most un-tradeable contacts in the league to his airness.

What Joe did AFTER that transaction justified him being reassigned to a non-GM position within the Pistons org.

What about Josh Smith for PHI #10 pick in 1rd? It is a litter lower pick but we would get rid of Jsmoove and have 1rd pick in this draft.

I'm just not sure that PHX would pull the trigger on that one.
