    He should self publish it.

That makes me sick to my stomach. No wonder the NBA threatened to sue.

We need to raise enough money to get this book released open source to the internet. Hell, I am now Tim's biggest fan. Tim, do the right thing. Release this book.

He might as well. The excerpts alone are enough to get him cement shoes from someone anyway.

At least someone has stepped forward with plausible explanation of the 2002 WCF.

This is great publicity for him. The book that was too hot to publish!

He just needs a publisher that doesn't have a relationship with the NBA.

I'm gonna go turn on ESPN News and sit there waiting for the impending sound byte from one of Tim Donaghy's fellow refs denying that any of this kind of stuf ever occurred.

    :rolleyes1:

You have to look at the source. He is definitely disgruntled and surely willing to exaggerate for a buck.

However, he is also the closest we have to someone willing to be open about the potential abuses that go on in the current ref system. The story sounds crazy but strangely enough not farfetched. It sounds like something plausible enough to be true. I'm sure that parts of the book have inacurracies, but then again so does probably Magic/Larry's book. I say the positives outweigh the negatives. Get that book out.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing, and per the rest of your post as well. Donaghy is an awfully dubious source, but then again, so was/is Jose Canseco, yet a lot of what he claimed about steroids in baseball seems to have been true. You don't have to (and probably shouldn't) take everything at face value from an ethically challenged, money-grubbing publicity hound like Canseco or Donaghy, but there probably is some truth in what he's saying.

Sometimes stories are too specific to be made up. Not sure his tales fall into that category, but they do have some detail.

He should have written that for the last 6 years, Stern hand picked the winners. That would sell some books.

I will contribute $50 to the cause to get this published....Stern would never let this book published and is probably steaming that these excerpts were leaked...

Looks like 2 of Phils' 10 coaching rings may be tainted as well as 2 of Kobie and Shaq's rings. Both C-Webb and Sheed were robbed of possible rings ..

Have to assume that Dick Bavetta didn't ref any of the 04 finals, other wise we may have had that series stolen from us.

Also how many of the Piston losses that AI played in last season did Steve Javie ref in??

I wish I had the time and effort available to go back and look at Dick Bavetta's games and take note of how close his games were.

That would make for some interesting analysis!

I'm not surprised. This type of betting goes on in the business world. Employees fired or reprimanded, solely based on a bet between management types. Wow...:stirthepot:

Sad thing is that I am not surprised. However, the league will hide behind the fact that Doneghy is a convicted felon.
