Igoudala shot .317 from deep last season and he's got one season in his career where he's shot over the NBA average.

Yeah he ain't no stroker. But if we add Korver...

You can only front load 4.5% if i recall correctly. I'd rather just give him a 4yr/15m contract with only a partially guaranteed last two years. Easy.

Whatever he gets will be determined by how much teams are willing to spend, not what is expedient for the Pistons.

True. And since I don't think the Pistons are one 30-year-old-defensive-wing away from dominance, I wouldn't break the bank for him. Not that I wouldn't love to watch him play.

I think its more important that there are limits set on what the organisations spend for him.

My point wasn't about NBA wages in general, but rather that if someone else offers him 15 mill a year, our being pragmatic and saying we would pay him 10 mill per year is irrelevant.

The contract that counts is the one he signs. I agree, he's not worth breaking the bank for. But at the end of summer, having a lot of cap space doesn't help you win games.

Iggy = Perfect fit. I'd offer 4 years/$50M and would go as high as $55M without blinking an eye. I still say we need to amnesty CV and go after Josh Smith too; we instantly become one of the best defensive teams in the league and we become EXTREMELY athletic.

I wanted Josh Smith here long time ago. Still want him.

Iguodala wants to be part of a contender team.. he won't come here...

Yeah, but if you combine Iggy and Josh Smith together, along with Monroe and Drummond, we become an instant contender!

In the end, who really knows Gores? Within that direction is the key: you must be willing to spend money in order to make mistakes. If you want another Rodman, then you go after Mitchell. If you want another Isiah, then you go after Schroeder. It has to do with limited perceptions and the herd instinct.

The only contender that has any money to spend is SanAntonio and they already have 2 younger-cheaper players on the wing in Green and Leonard. I think our competition lies in Atlanta (who won't overspend), Cleveland and New Orleans.

Imagine if Joe drafts MCW, I know, I know....but follow along for a second. Amnesties CV. Cuts Stuckey. We sign Josh Smith and Iggy- 4 years $60M for each. Imagine this lineup:

    PG: MCW- 6'5"
    SG: Iggy- 6'6"
    SF: Smith- 6'9"
    PF: Monroe- 6'11"
    C: Drum- 6'11"

They can't shoot, but man that's a HUGE lineup and pretty athletic too!

Although a lot of you say that Chris Paul would not come to town, but I think Gores still has to bid him, gives it a shot at Maximum contract, drop Slava, and choose a big at first round, re-sign Bynum, and look what we can get at SF spot.

CP3 makes our bigs and shooters immediately upgrade and I think Pistons will get into playoff and make impacts if they really get CP3.

I don't mind going with a new math like that. Bring Will Bynum off the bench as the wildcard and just try to score a lot in transition.

Besides, if we don't give up any points, we only need to score 1.

This team lacks a true 7 footer.

So the Nuggets New GM is 100% sure they will be able to sign Iggy.
NBA GM: Andre Iguodala a priority - ESPN

So if we can't get Iggy, what's plan B? Or is it a better idea to target the 2 or 3 guys who can make us better and if we can't or don't get them .....is doing nothing a legitimate plan B?

If they can't get what they want initially then I would like to see them wait it out until the end of FA to scoop up some 2's and 3's from the bargain bin.

That might be a tough sell to the public though after the last few years.
