This is my biggest fear. Nobody really wants to take on Rip or Tay's big contracts in the first place. My one saving grace for this season was hoping we could dump one of these guys. Isiah Thomas, Chris Mullins, and Kevin McHale are no longers GM's, so where do we turn? Chris Wallace?.. Please come back soon so we can trade you!

Take it easy, pal, next year is "contract year" for tay and he'll make 11mil.

It definitely opens up new possibilities.

This may also explain why Dumars put his money on potential SFs on draft day.

Logic seems to be pretty simple: two years for rookies to see whether they are capable of making Tay expendable or not. No - offer to Tay an extension; yes - see what you can get for Tay in his final year. And final year usually is bonus on trade market. Dot forget that, therefore "trade tay now" post for me are "premature".

You sound as if Joe D. has a long term strategy and makes tactical moves that will give him flexible options to make the team better. I didn't know he was supposed to do that. I've read that Joe was as emotional as a 12-year-old-girl-at-her-first-Jonas-Brothers-concert and made hasty decisions when drafting/trading players and anything and everything good that happened was just pure luck. And surely, he must only be trading/drafting guards because he was a guard himself. The only reason he picked Daye/JJ/Summers is because somebody texted him that they were just tall guards.

I don't think Dumards is in any rush to make trades. His rookies are getting great opportunities to acclimate to the NBA. He's getting a chance to evaluate what Gordon and Villeuneva have to offer. Dumards will make his moves when the time is right.

Although his rookies are getting great opportunities, I think that most of the acclimates are just here in the forum. They will have to work very hard to get acclimates from the media and the rest of the league.

C'mon man... the last acclimate to play for Dumards got stuffed by the rim.
NBAdraft net has a big acclimate from Litishguania as the #2 pick... maybe Dumards can set up a workout?

Dumards is waiting until after Christmas to make a trade in hopes of some presents in the paint.
