On what basis do you say that? The Pistons would be worth a lot less regardless of who owns them right now. A bad season and being in the heart of a recession will do that.

I am not talking just about the Pistons. I am talking about the whole empire. Letting key members of any sucessful organization go or leave on their on regard is never good for the bottom line. There is no stability.

If Joe leaves, I'd wish him the best of luck wherever he goes.
I'd hope Pritchard would be his replacement. Either way I just don't se Joe leaving any time soon.

As much as I rag on Dumars for his recent moves (or lack of), I don't want to see him leave. This franchise is already a mess, who knows how long (if ever?) it will take to right this ship under someone else? I don't have any faith that the current ownership would hire a good replacement.

What have you done for me lately Joe?

Maybe we can get Hammond back.

If Joe leaves, I guess we may also say good-bye to Kuester and his entire coaching staff.

New ownership, new GM equals new coaches. I hope this stuff is all speculation, really, really would be pissed if Joe leaves.

To be fair to Karen Davidson, it's not like she asked to be the owner.

But she did say "I do" to a man 30 years her senior, so that's kind of like an indirect request.

At first glance I'd hate to see him go.

At second glance I think about the team the next GM has to fix.

At third glance I remember who put the team in its current spot.

It might be time for a change.

I don't really see this as anything more than the worst team in the league trying to pump up their fans. Truth is they are probably not getting Lebran, Bosh, or Wade.

As far as billionaire owners they still have to operate under a salary cap like everyone else and once they reach it lose their ability to sign FA's. Cuban and Wozniak are yet to buy a championship.

Is Dumars really leaving? I think we would have heard more by now. Besides, is anyone really pursuing someone who has not been able to update their resume in 5 years? Who knows. Dumars is still probably the best option for the Pistons so I hope he stays.

I don't think Mrs. Davidson is going to go out of her way to hire Pritchard. Let's hope we have a new owner who is ambitious (Prokhorov) about rebuilding his/her franchisee and turning it into a dynasty.. Pritchard would be an excellent replacement. A step in a different and hopefully the right direction.

Trade Dumars for Prokhorov, bring in Pritchard and see CAS and Rip go go to NJ for Lopez and Harris. Add Wade with new cap space to keep logjams intact. Success.

I agree about them not likely to obtain any of the big name FA's. Perceptions out there can be very outdated for those who don't follow situations and people very closely.

How many times do you hear people/commentators still calling Tay a lockdown defender? Same thing probably happens in coaching/GM circles. Joe's reputation will likely remain to be great until he screws something up repeatedly and it makes waves.

...and if she marries someone else before she sells, it could get worse as that dude could stop the sell and run the franchise in the ground....which begs the question....is Matt Millen single???:sssh:

She's not all that to look at, but "taking one for the team", is what its all about....
