Joe Dumars says he's not interested in New Jersey Nets' GM job - ESPN New York
You guys realize that if this was Larry Brown, people would have already been calling for his head just on the rumor...
I'm a fan of LB, but I gotta be honest - he kind of brought it on himself with all the quick exits he made throughout his career. Joe has earned a little benefit of the doubt because he's been nothing if not loyal to the Piston franchise.
So what? Someone got interested in Joe D. This isn't the first time this happened, I'm sure. At the moment NJ is a bigger train wreck than what we have here despite the big guy (Prokhorov).
This morning I feel really relieved that Joe D denies published reports about leaving the Pistons. With that being said, the question arises in my mind, if Joe talked to Nets Management, is it possible trade talks were being discussed as opposed to Joe leaving the Pistons?
Makes you wonder, doesn't it? Unfortunately, Joe was the only FA the Nets seem to be interested in.
If you think about it where else can Joe get a deal like this? He's done nothing for years yet people act like he can't be replaced or topped. I feel pretty certain we can find someone else to leave us with no cap space, never make a trade, scour the bargain bin for big men to make their last stop before they're out of the league and view Tay as being a hair below LeBron James. He could not have it better and would be crazy to leave.

Brown isn't off the hook just yet. After all, who do you think is behind all this mess? Far be it for me to speculate... Hint: a catheter was found on the floor in the office of a high ranking unamed Net's official.
The mention of Larry Brown sent my thought process in a different direction. Now I think this rumor was intentionally generated to gauge Joe's popularity.
