Thanks for posting this. "Stay away from the jerks and the crazies"...LOL.

And I've been arguing in one of the other threads that a long layoff before the next round probably won't matter, but now Joe comes in and says he's worried about it...come on, Joe, don't make me look bad! You can't let Dlev get the upper hand on me!

It's true, though. Pistons always struggled after extended layoffs. However, this year may be somewhat different. But we'll see.

Think about this. A long layoff gives the Pistons an opportunity to sell more tickets, which should assist the team by creating the proper Detroit home crowd atmosphere...

I hope you are right my friend.

You don`t think the fans created the proper atmosphere at home during the regular season? I know this is the playoffs, but hey, we are undefeated at home in the second season.

I would love for that to continue.

Did not one of the Bad Boys team go undefeated at home during one of the championship runs??

They keep claiming sellouts but any of the fans who go will tell you that the building is far from capacity.

In order to properly create the playoff noise factory, we need a full house of fans.

The '89 team lost only games in their whole playoff run, but one of them was Game 1 at home against Chicago in the conference finals (the other one was Game 3 at Chicago). The '90 team won every home until the finals, where they lost Game 2 to the Blazers before winning all three 3 in Portland.

The players created their own atmosphere during the orlando series. I could tell that they had no worries. The calls by the refs weren't going to affect the outcome of this time against orlando. They need to continue to stay focused during the next series and have patience with the way the games unfold. They have the talent. Now they will need patience and focus..........................

I agree with Joe that game 1 might be a concern. We can't afford to get down to a team like Chicago. We need to go balls out from tip off of game 1 and not stop until the final horn of the last game (hopefully the 4th game of the Finals after a Pistons sweep).

The team surprised me by showing no let down against the Magic. Usually game 3 of a series is the let down game for this team. They get over confident and mail a game or 2 in each series. So maybe things are finally starting to sink in for these guys.

A long layoff is always a double edged sword. It's nice to get the extra rest and practice time, but it hurts the team's flow.

Our best bet would be for the Bulls to get into a long series... while we're preparing for their every move... they can't prepare for us.

Agreed. Hopefully Ben will be nice and worn down from 7 games of bumping with Shaq.

Sell outs usually do not translate into no empty seats in basketball. There are always a number of people who have tickets that can't make the game and don't give them to someone else or sell them to a ticket agency. And even if they are sold to a ticket agency by a someone, the agency may not sell them to someone else. So the seat remains empty but it is considered sold.

    :hoops:
