Just as punting is often times the best option for the Lions (even on 1st down), it could be the best option for the Pistons. It is definitely something to consider. Maybe use this season to make adventageous trades that will set us up for a big FA spending spree next time around.

Which would explain Joe re-signing Coach Tablecloth.
IMO, Joe ain't no dummy. - I'm beginning to think that he took a good look at the turd infested 2009 free agent class and just said "eff it".

When it comes to trades, it's a buyers market and I think Joe will do well. I think that next Summer will likely be the time that he'll add a free agent or two to the mix to round out the "new look" Pistons.

...which means that we might be in for a long [strike]tanked[/strike] season and a lottery pick in 2010.

    Not a bad plan actually.

You know...that really makes sense. Might as well keep Captain Tablecloth at the helm because a new coach won't have the crew to navigate the ship through next years rough water. The following year some big moves are made and Captain Tablecloth is forced to walk the plank.

People please stop dreaming because Chris Anderson is not going anywhere. He's in love with Denver and he said that he's staying to give it another shot at a long run in the Playoffs. All of this free agents signing is just icing when the real cake will be coming along in 2010.

Good, b/c Chris Anderson IMO is fairly useless.

    Yeah.
I just don't get why eveybody is crazy about him.
At best, he's your 7th or 8th man off the bench.
Chris Anderson is NOT a starter of a playoff team.

Reason number 234,783 for why I hate Joakim Noah. By the way, did he pee his pants?

Bosh, Hedo, and Darko. Joe needs to sign Bosh to a Max, offer 10 mil to Hedo, and trade for Darko. That should keep us just at the tax. Then dump Tay and JMax for anything expiring, and we go into 2010/11 with enough cap space for another max deal.

The beauty with Darko is he's a free look. If he has matured and plays well as a starter, we resign him. If he hasn't, his contract expires, and we use the space next year.

    09/10 lineup
    Stuckey
    [STRIKE]Rip[/STRIKE]Delfino:stirthepot:
    Hedo
    Bosh
    Darko

    10/11 lineup
    Stuckey
    Wade
    Hedo
    Bosh
    Darko

I was thinking about if we could sign another player like we did last year with Will Bynum so I did some searching. I know theres no such thing as a "LeBron stopper" but if there's anyone with the physical capabilities to slow him down that won't put a dent in the capspace, it's this guy. David Noel who played for the Tar Heels back in college and tested #1 in the physical tests at the combine in 2006. One thing that really jumped out at me is he put up 20 reps on the bench. This past season he was averaging 20ppg on 55% shooting, 45% from 3, 6rpg, 7apg and a steal per. Now he's play in the Dleague, take it for what its worth but he's worth keeping an eye or putting him on the summer league team. DraftExpressProfile: David Noel, Stats, Comparisons, and Outlook
Also worth keeping an eye on is Air Georgia Brent Petway who won the Dleague Defensive player of the year this season. NBA Development League: Idaho’s Brent Petway Named NBA D-League Defensive Player of the Year
Not saying these guys should or have to be signed next year but their development is worth a look.

I think Noel was on one of our Summer League teams.
