Memo was quoted "I'd be willing to take 3 or 4 million less (than from another team) over the next contract to re-sign with the Jazz"... he went on to say Utah was perfect for his family.

Deseret News | Utah Jazz: Okur's happy in Utah but wants to get paid

    Very modest (seriously).

    Trade Prince for Kaman

Trade Max to the Kings for Andres Nocioni & 23rd pick (saves them about 3.5 million a year)

    Draft B.J. Mullens 15th, Tyler Hansbrough 23st, Toney Douglas 36th & Jonas Jerebko 39th & Jodie Meeks 44th

Resign Sheed to a Two year 14 Million deal with the 2nd year team optional.

Amir, Bynum, Sharpe, Brown & Sheed (team optional) would be free agents after next season, about 16 million off the books.

    '09-'10 Pistons

    Stuckey/Bynum/Douglas
    Rip/AA/Meeks
    Nocioni/Jerebko/Sharpe
    Sheed/Amir/Hansbrough
    Kaman/Brown/Mullens

I don't think that's even close in Joe's plan with 20mill in capspace. Kaman & Nocioni? Good players but come on.

I like the idea of Kaman. I wonder how we could get Millsap?

There are some good parts to this....
Prince for Kaman... Seems fair... The Clips would have to move Thornton (Joe said he really liked him in the draft... a top 3 athlete that year).

Noc & #23 for JMax (to give the Kings cap relief)... That'll work

Draft Mullens & Hansbrough... Mullens may be worth the pick down the road... not sold on Hansbrough... this league is too athletic for him.

Sign Sheed for two more years... No thanks to No Show.

With this lineup you'd have to add a serious defender at PF.

BTW, I'm not in favor of trading for Bosh... we'd be giving up a lot for a guy that likely would leave the next year (when several teams will have the cash to pry him away)... No one year loaners, unless we get him on the cheap.

I would definetly go after Boozer. Dude is a 20-10 machine. Earnie Kander would cure him of any nagging injuries. I would also try to sign the Birdman Chris Anderson. We are in desperate need of a shot-blocker and energy guy. He was 2nd in blocks coming off the bench!!! We could probably sign those 2 and still have money for next summer's fire sale.

How would this starting line up look?
    C Chris Anderson
    PF Carlos Boozer
    SF Tashawn Prince
    SG Rip Hamilton
    PG Rodney Stucky

    Prediction for that roster:
    ~45 win season
    Longest win streak of 5
    5-8th playoff seeding
    1st round playoff exit

how about if we go after Ben Gordon, we try to trade for Boris Diaw to have a point forward and have them as our bench guys. Trading for him would work because of the financial constraints Charlotte is in. Ben Gordon won't be a defensive liability guarding point guards if he puts in strong effort. I know Stuck can guard shooting guards but we all would rather have him guarding point guards given his physical advantage. This would also allow Stuck to guards point guards when he plays off the ball on offense. For the people that say Ben Gordon wouldn't come off the bench here, I can't get the link right now but there is a video of a Ben Gordon interview saying that coming off the bench is cool with him b/c there's less pressure and he can just look for his shot and not have to worry about others. If you want to see the vid, I'd just type in Ben Gordon 6th man interview on Youtube. This would make our defense overall much better and we'd get younger good players to move on.

Draftexpress today mentions Gordon and Milsap as the two guys the Pistons want. As far as I know they don't eat candy for breakfast.

I remember reading about how Adrian Dantley took Joe Dumars under his wing. He taught him how to take care of himself and keep to a strict diet so his body would be strong for the entire season.

Those guys probably never ate candy.

They also mentioned (from several sources) that Joe is going to trade Amir & the #15 for more cap space.

Milsap & Gordon doesn't seem to translate to Ship material.

Sounds like were trying to throw the max or close to the max at Milsap and hope Utah doesn't match....

Thinking that Hamilton would have to somehow be involved in a trade if were going to go after Ben Gordon....Oklahoma City may need a veteran like Hamilton (one of the few talented players left on our team in my opinion.)

Ben Gordon is good. Milsap is good..although Milsap is undersized like Maxiell...Would rather have Milsap over Boozer if we able to discourage Utah from matching.

is 25 Million enough to get those 2 players? Are we going to have any excess money?

I was hoping we keep our 15th pick...I guess we would have to include it if someone is going to swallow Amir's 3mil contract in these economic times.

well for sure Millsap isn't getting a max contract. 13ppg and 8rpg, not quite but......if Joe was going that route with Ben Gordon and Paul Millsap, maybe hes looking at a 3rd impact player. I mean those 2 would eat 18mill of Joe's goal of 25mill in capspace at most.

Yeah, he's undersized, but he's a much more productive player than Maxiell. He'd be a huge upgrade over Max or AJ. He's a better player than Boozer IMO. He played better against the Lakers than Boozer did.

Interesting video bmill. Sounds like no drama about a bench role for BG.
