That figures to be a pretty tough top 4 in the East. Perhaps I am biased towards the East, but the West doesn't seem nearly as formidable to me.

I think that we're better than the Knicks.

We have such a bad matchup with Brooklyn.

42-40, which should be good enough for the playoffs in the EC.

So we get Smith and Jennings, pair them with Drummond and Monroe and the Hawks still make the playoffs and not us?!

I think we are probably good enough to beat out the Hawks, Cavs and Bullets already, but even if not all of them, we will top one of them for sure and make the playoffs.

44 wins... I think that can be achieved! I can't wait for the season to begin so the Pistons can shut up all the ESPN analysts that put us 9th in the East...

I can't picture us missing the playoffs if we stay healthy. I say 42-45 wins

31 votes so far and everybody sees improvement for this coming season.
Over half of our members see a team finishing over .500 for the season.

I won't make a prediction yet. I want to see if this coach has any common sense, and more to the point, is he going to have control over who plays vs. Dumars having that control. Dumars is still with us, so I can't see any reason not to believe that he will mess the whole season up one way or another.

This team has lots of talent, but this team also has a lot of very non-talented players on the roster, who, if played, will mean plenty of losses.

Here is a rotation that could lose plenty. Start Jennings, Pope, Smith, Monroe, Drummond. This unit will have problems with spacing, but should win more than lose. But not by a great margin. Then the bench comes in. Bynum running the point, totally messing up the team's rhythm. Billups at shooting guard and very unhappy about it. Worse, Billups is slower these days, and so with him and Bynum both in we can expect the other team to get to the basket at will. Worse, Dumars is insisting that CV gets minutes. So the players getting to the basket on us have no problem scoring once they get there. Lets assume even worse, that Dumars cops an attitude about Mitchell, and will not let the new coach play the guy. Instead, we get Datome on the 2nd unit at small forward, another front line player who can't defend. How much worse can this get. Still one more bench player needed for five. Who knows what old cast off scrub Dumars will pick up for that extra big, who in worst case ends up actually playing for us as the backup center. So, in all, our second unit would be Bynum, Billups, Datome, CV, old scrub center Dumars picked up from a yard sale. And this unit loses big every time on the floor. We seldom see wins. Dumars, at the end of the season, rather than admit he hamstringed the new coach by forcing him to play the wrong players, will start anew with getting more fresh faces in next year, and a new coach, and again, mess another season up.

From everything I have seen over the years, Dumars is pretty hands-off, as far as letting the coach do what he wants. There have been times I wished that wasn't the case.

Lee is going to like Dabone as a big 2 guard this year.

It doesn't make sense with the way this roster is built to play 10 guys. They need to commit to the fact that they signed Smith.

Drummond, Smith, Monroe, Jennings, Bynum, Billups, hopefully Pope and either Singler or Dabone are my 8 with the other waiting in the on deck circle.

CG, Mitchell, Jerebko and Stuckey are in the next group. Silva too.

Who doesn't dress out of that 5?

NBA teams don't use 8-man rotations, especially early in the season.

Go with both Singler and Dabone then and make it 9.

They can't play 10-11 guys and play Drummond, Smith and Monroe.
