Something else to think about. Billups basically played 14 games worth of starter minutes last year (over 22 games)

I think expecting him to have a Jason Kidd-like end to his career might be asking a bit much. I can see Billups playing around 40 games, 15 mins average per game.

The errors and turnovers Bynum has come when he is trying to make plays. I can live with that after watching so many Pistons pad(un-pad?) their TO stats by just standing there.

I don't need to watch a game 6 times to see that he's been one of the top 3-5 guys on the team consistently.

Bynum is great as the floor leader for our bench crew.

Bynum is not so great when he's our go-to scorer to win the game all by himself.

Bynum was terrible when we had Stuckey and Knight on the floor with him at the same time.

I agree with you. I think my sieve comment may have been a little harsh. I guess my perception is he is a bench guy for a reason because he has limitations. But, at the end of the day, he is a really good bench guy. My post came from a few games I remember during the Christmas Holidays where Bynum was in during the stretch run and just hit a wall. Before that he was lights out and had single handily brought the team back. I wish we could have subbed him out, but the problem was there was no one on the roster worth putting in.

The more I think about it, the more likely I think it is that we'll make the playoffs this season. I'm putting the odds at 75%.

I'm very confident - put it at maybe 90%. I think things will have to go pretty wrong for us not to make the POs.

There is maybe an issue with cohesion after so many changes to the roster though and this may be magnified with the tough November to the season. Still better than an 8 game road trip in the first two weeks!

Over 80% of the people predicting over .500? I wonder if anyone would change their prediction after last night's game....

The core of the Bulls have played three full seasons together.
The core of the last night's Pistons roster have played three full preseason games together.

If Brandon Jennings can get his tooth back to full strength, my prediction stands:
    45 wins
    #5 in the EC

46 wins. BDL I got yo back.

Anyone saying we will be under .500 needs to take a long look in the mirror and search deep in their heart and pray to whatever entity represents them, and consult their spirit animal and stuff.

I was pretty confident before that our big 3 would dominate in the paint, but I'm spooked by watching the actual dynamic going on in a live game. I'm not sure that Jennings fixes anything. I was most pleasantly surprised by Pope and my guess is that we'll see frustratingly little of him as Stuckey gets handed the majority of SG playing time.

I'm a fan of big ball and athleticism, but my updated opinion is that the team/ coach is not going to figure out how to make it all come together until the 2nd half of the season. There will likely be a lot of bad isolations and awkward shots. Charlie V actually made me realize how important actual hand coordination is on offense last night. When he came in the game it was like our skill level went up noticeably... even though he was loafing it in every way.

We are going to get good when we become one of the best defensive teams and that spurs our offense. We probably have one of the best physical defensive lineups in the league, but that is only 50% of defense. The rest is will and cohesion. Those are the parts that don't look anywhere close yet as Mo has to really train these guys and develop a scheme.

I'm completely open minded that I might be wrong and hope so. Teams can look terrible on one night and look like world beaters on the next. I like the direction and the concepts for the first time in years and look forward to seeing it come together... hopefully soon.

To be honest, Stuckey scares me. For me, he adds a negative cloud over all good things in PistonsLand. I would say 41+ without Stuckey.

    BDL: Glass is half full.
    Laimbeer: Glass is half empty.
    Nemo: The water's probably poisoned.
Lee365: This is totally the wrong glass.
