I was at the 36-40 mark and knowing my usual pre-season optimism, I would put myself out there as it being 40.

Currently, I can not even see us repeating the first half and making it 34. Even the wins we get recently are ugly. The last win we had that showed any promise was probable against the Pacers over a month ago.

I stand by my prediction of 43 wins. I still believe.

Actually...I felt this way when the season began. Just felt we had the wrong coach and no chemistry on the team.

I wish I could be more optimistic like this poster. I do consider myself a fan of the Pistons.

This guy predicted a 50 plus wins season to start. Then he posted a 35 win season. Then he felt that we would be 6+ wins better without Stuckey this season.

Hate to admit it, but I remember myself having all those feelings before the season started.

Turns out that he used to be on winning teams... although we still will probably make the playoffs

I NEVER predicted a 50+ plus win season. The post you are referring to is a sarcastic remark made to show that these polls should always be made public.

This post was made on October 17, two weeks before the first regular season game. I knew this team didn't have the right mix long before the season started.

Bill, I like your optimism, but 50 wins would be a serious turnaround. It's just not realistic.

I am with Laimbeer. 50 wins is still possible.

The Pistons are at a crossroads right now. There are 3 things that could happen: (1) Make playoffs, (2) Keep their top 8 lottery pick, or (3) finish with the 9th through 14th worst record to miss out on the playoffs AND lose their draft pick. That option #3 is called THE DISASTER ZONE. Simulations show the three outcomes are almost equally probable right now:

    ■ Make playoffs: 36%

    ■ The Disaster Zone: 34%

    ■ Keep pick: 30%

Our pick is already lost, it just depends on which year right? If we lose it this draft, we get our pick in the next one.

I'm hoping for Keep Pick, but would put my money on Disaster Zone. Most likely aided by some Charlie V late season heroics.

If coach keeps trying to find ways to play Singler instead of trying to win, yup, we will keep that pick.

Playoffs arent really that meaningful when you think about it. The palace wouldn't even sell out.

Maybe they should rename The Palace The Disaster Zone?

I figured you did since you posted 50 wins twice and you never joined me in the poll in the 31-35 wins group.
