well all i can say is im hopeing for the best but expecting the worse with the pistons today GO REDWINGS
Something. Looking like the same start for him as last post season. Rose is looking real good too. Especially for his first playoff game ever, nerves of steal.
Can't wait to see Van Gundy's press conference....should be a doozy. He will probably be fired. It seems like the players dislike him. Lets go Hawks....
I'm glad i turned it off when they were up 15 or so. I don't need to see more evidence that we could have easily owned them like we always do. I guess it still holds true that you can't 3 point/mediocre defend yourself to PO success. edited to add; I've been hearing that stuff about Van Gundy, but i chalk/chalked it up to rumors.
Well both teams we coulda-shoulda been playing in the first round (Magic/Celtics)lose at home to the lower seeds??? This just wasn't Pistons year that they windup coming up 2-3 games short of playing two teams primed to be beaten as opposed to the favorite in the first round...What did we do to deserve Curry and Joe's talent evaluation??? The next question is why wasn't Tony Dileo or Vinnie Del Negro good friends with Joe?? We could have had one of those first time coaches beat up all season despite the fact that they finished .500 and were able to grab a road win coaching their first play off game. ....
I don't know, but i wish they could both take it back. This is why IMO, you don't break up a team that was that close the year before especially if you're not getting equal value in return. edited to add; On another note, it really is amazing how much having a viable 3 point shooter helps your offense. Who knew Donyell Marshall would end up being so valuable for the Sixers?. That's one thing that has killed us this year especially since we refuse to use Tay as a spot up shooter.
When it is all said and done and Joe's legacy as a GM pans out to one championship, he will have to wonder was his biggest mistake drafting the Darko in 03, letting LB go in 05, or hiring Curry and trading Billups in 08?? I concur lpgrl, that we didn't have to make a drastic trade that early in the season. If that trade had to be done, we could have waited until the midseason to see how Curry was doing and then decided if we wanted to tank it then or not. With THE trade, we gave up our best 3 pt shooter and best FT shooter and those are the extra pts missing that put us 29th in the league in scoring...and probably 15 more w's that we missed out on...
I agree. Why were we in such a rush to trade. Obviously, there were lingering problems with AI in Denver. Denver probably gave the Joe a take it or leave it offer. Joe saw the cap space money and short term gain of a future HOF player and went with it. I don't think Joe thought for a second that AI would not work. The trade caused major chemistry problems. Looking at the various playoff games, it is apparent that we do not have adequate backup and some of our starters should be backups. We need better players in our frontcourt. Joe is also in love with his press clippings. He is not such a great evaluator of talent.
I'm definitely sorry I turned off that Philly-Orlando game. I thought it was over when the lead got to 18 in the 3rd quarter. Quite a choke by the Magic! Relying on 3s can be a problem for Orlando, but what they improved on most this season was defense, which can make up for plenty of issues on the other end. Obviously that failed them when it counted today, with Philly dropping 35 on them in the 4th quarter.
