ECF VS Boston, Pistons nirvana or deja vu from last year?

Discussion in 'Pistons and NBA' started by Dlev59, May 18, 2008.

?

How will the Pistons do in their sixth ECF appearance?

  1. Pistons will win game 1 and go on to win series.

    65.1%
  2. Pistons will drop two in Boston, wake up then win next two in Detroit.

    4.7%
  3. Pistons will dominate and sweep series.

    9.3%
  4. Boston will win, another 7 game series.

    2.3%
  5. Detroit will win 7 game series.

    11.6%
  6. Boston will win series, only reason - AA and Amir see no or limited PT!

    7.0%

Here we are. Pistons fans and perhaps the entire NBA had called this matchup from early in the season.

The team that has been in the ECF the last 5 years, against the annointed retooled Celtics.

Can the Pistons match the Celtics intensity, consistently for a series? Will the Pistons steal game 1 after Boston has just completed a grueling 7 game series?

How will the Pistons mindset be for this, their sixt consecutive ECF?

Looking at the Boston/Cleveland series was like watching paint dry.

The Celtics look very tired and trying to figure out what hit them because they have never been this far into the playoffs in a verrrry long time and never as a group.

Did anyone see Kevin Garnett sucking air on Friday from the 3rd quarter on?

The long playoff trail that the Celtic just blazed works in the Pistons favor. KG, Ray (lost his shot) Allen, Pierce and the rest must now experience what it is like to play with the big boys.

To not win on the road for the entire playoffs thus far is not a good sign of things to come.

I think the pistons had the opportunity to sit back and break the games down that the Celtics have played, they will have a better opportunity of being able to exploit the Celts weaknesses, which are aplenty.

I agree that the Pistons need to run their Arses off, upp the tempo and the Celts will be trying to figure out what hit them.

Is there a "Pistons in 6 option"? I don't see a sweep, but a good chance Pistons go to the Finals after closing out Boston at home in game 6.

I guess option 1 in the poll is the closest to my liking.

We really really really have to jump on them in Game 1. It's going to be our best opportunity to really get to them. If we can win game 1 I'll feel pretty good about our chances.

    It is DEFINITELY doable.

I am from Boston and I am not a Pistons fan. I am actually a fan without a team.

I am rooting for the Pistons to win this series.

I HATE the Celtics with a passion and I am going to kill something (probably a plant) if they win anything.

My name is Karmas Coming because I hope the bad karma the Celtics have is coming to take them out.

The team is full of the most obnoxious team in the NBA. Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett need to be shut up.

    Welcome!

Celts should be dead tired, but the Pistons might be rusty with CB in the mix. We need to jump on them big time like Miami did us a couple of years ago and take home court advantage.

Get a split or better in the first 2. Pistons in 6

Boston gets the first 2, it goes 7, edge Boston.

IMO if the refs continue to bail Paul Pierce out of every missed shot then Detroit won't even get to game 6.

    :gun1:The refs are the key.

Need to start AA and Amir. Only play Rip and Sheed if those guys get in early foul trouble. Boston will be so surprised and then that will turn to fear when they see how those two dominate.

You guys are right on 6 games, but it's going to be BOSTON winning in six (6).

Pierce is going to tear Detroit a new one. :(

Boston wants it BAD. Detroit, not so much.

Detroit actually wins a game 3 and either game 1 or game 5. This is where the Pistons miss big Ben.

I'll be thrilled to eat my words, but ain't gonna happen. Oh well, at least Lebrood went down first.

Boston is going to win the ship...unless somehow San Antonio gets through to play them.
