We get nothing in return though. There is only a small crack in the window for this group now.

I agree with SKLuck, we're aren't going back to Teal. It's a lot of melodrama. I love Ben as much as anyone.

You could see this coming. And it happened. So now we move on.

    WOW!

Talk about a second half collapse. Best start in franchise history. Worst collapse in franchise history. Now the face of the franchise is history.

This is a sad, sad day for Pistons fans.

Joe got us OUT of the "teal era", any of you honestly think HE would send us right back in it?

NO MORE TALK OF THAT :mad:

I don't think the deal is oficial is it? Is it possible for the Pistons to increase the $$.

If Ben does go I want to kick the Bulls *** when we face them.

I guess it's not official to July 12 when he signs. Joe Dumar said there would only be drastic changes If they couldn't resign Ben, so I wonder if their will be any drastic changes and what they will be???

Screw this... first Stevie Y then Ben.... gimme a drink.

Low, nice try but it ain't all Flip... the bottom line comes from Mr. D and Joe... my guess is once again Mr. D didn't like the public comments.

I will agree that something pissed off Ben... he ain't all about 4M or 2. somethin'

This better be confirmed from someone besides Mr. unreliable Fad Chord.

No joke--we could use Darko right now. I know Joe D couldn't foresee Ben falling out with Flip and acting like a primadonna the second half of the season...so he let DM go...but now it isn't looking too smart.

Actually I think Joel Pryzbilla fills Ben's role PERFECTLY. (I know, he'll get hate, but I think he's goign to be a slight upgrade except for intensity/intangibles) But who can measure that stuff anyways...?

We'll see next year, but mark my words...if we can get JP--we're back on track. Dude is playing well and only getting better. AND YOUNG.

Joe said there would be changes if Ben left. 90% chance that this teams run is done unless these reports are not true.

    WHAT?!?!?!

I just read the espn article.

"The Pistons came out of the gate Saturday offering Wallace a whopping four-year, $48 million deal, but they told the four-time defensive player of the year that it was their final offer."

    WHAT THE @#$%

I hope to hell that isn't true. Their FINAL OFFER before Ben was even permitted to receive an offer from another team? That's just rediculous.

If that is true, its clear that Joe D. didn't want Ben back and was hoping to shift the blame to Ben. "Well we made him a fair offer, but he decided to go elsewhere." Sounds a lot like the LB drama from a season ago.

Man, that crap better not be true. :frusty: :frusty: :frusty:

'izbilla is always injured. Plus, a half dozen teams are chasing him.

It's going to be the Dale Davis and Kelvin Cato show. Watch.

Why would you want to offer him more money now? He gave the Bulls a verbal agreement that he would accept there offer. That was awful quick don't you think? Those stories about Ben buying a house in Chicago were probably true looking at how things unfolded.

Obviously Ben does not want to be here. Detroit has pride no groveling. We move on.

I don't think it was about money either. It's just not that much more money for it to be only that. I think he saw continuing to play for Detroit as a deadend for himself basketballwise. I have been worried about the combination of the "Grass is always greener on the other side" syndrome and the possibility that Ben and Flip's system had reached the the point of irreconcileable differences in his mind.

When you really think about Ben sitting on the bench in the 4th Quarter in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference and what that must have felt like to him. I wish he could have held on until Flip got fired after the All-Star Game next season.

God. This is such a sad day for the Detroit Pistons.

I'm still in shock that Ben's leaving. I'm not going to lose any sleep over it though. Now we can see how Joe Dumars arranges the team and find out if he really is a great gm like he has been.

With the money we have we can't improve much. Next year is just a building year for an old team,
