How can Ben get mad because Hurricane destroyed New Orleans over paid to get Peja to come there? Would you want to move to New Orleans right now unless you were going to be seriously over paid. The flood and hurricane insurance alone probably would set an athelete back some serious loot considering there bling and multiple SUV's and Bentley's with spinners.

Ben has to agree to a sign and trade and I doubt he wants to help Detroit now.

Hindsight being 20/20....but I can't help but be reminded of the story about Larry Brown coming to Joe and Bill the day after the Championship with a list of trades he wanted to make, only to draw the wrath of both men.

Now that the last two years have yielded what they have...

Would a trade or two back when the players worth was at their peak have been all that bad?

One things for sure, at least Joe could have gotten something for Wallace, vs nothing today.

I really hope Mr. D had nothing to do with this, and this was completely a case of Joe D doing what's best for the team.

Because if this really did happen because Mr. D didn't like Ben's public tirades as some have speculated, than Joe D is a lame duck GM and this franchise is in deep, deep trouble.

You can't tie your GM's hands and then expect him to perform magic tricks.

Trying to find a silver lining here (brotha it ain't easy)... at least we didn't wait til the end... there's still a good chance of a S&T... somethin' says Joe ain't gonna be left naked on the corner...

We actually do have some trade-able assets... D.D, Delfino, Evans T.E.. Jmax, Orlando pick etc.

Maybe we could pool all of them together and trade for Marquis Daniels.

We are DEFINITELY back in the teal era. We will be middle of the pack without ben and will probably lose to the Cavs the next time we meet in the playoffs.

 I'm sorry, but all those 1 million dollar contracts wouldn't buy a Coke in the NBA league office vending machine. The only assets the Pistons could get anything worthwhile for are the starters and McDyess...

    Ugh. %%%% Darko. %%%% that entire %%%%ing cluster%%%% of a #2 draft pick.

Keep DD and hope the Pistons can get Przybilla, I guess.

Yep. I just don't see this team the way it is right now getting to ECF again:ohwell:. I can't believe this is happening.

    I wouldn't wish Pryzbilla on a team I hated.

If Blakely's interpretation is correct, the Pistons lowballed Ben and he felt disrespected and left. It's hard to believe that the story is really that simple, but if it is, the Pistons' approach to negotiating does not inspire a lot of confidence.
