Playing great defense, being a selfless teammate, and hitting a high percentage from 3-point range is a very rare combination.
Our little Darko is growing up.... Darko Milicic: I didn't work as hard as I could as a Piston | freep.com | Detroit Free Press
Lots of ex-Pistons playing tonight: Darko just put up a combination of numbers than no Pistons has exceeded this year in any game: 25 points and 11 rebounds (Charlie V had the same stats in one game) Surprisingly, Stuckey has only had 1 game this year with more points than Darko just had. Also, nice games from Afflalo with 15 pts, 4 rebs, 4 ast, and a steal and Amir with 12 points, 12 rebs, 1 ast, 2 steals, and 2 blocks. Shoot, even Nazr had 18 and 8 tonight.
Larry Brown out...again. Maybe the Pistons will get him back? Larry Brown is out as Bobcats coach - NBA - Yahoo! Sports
Wow! This guy really carved out a niche for himself with the good guy hustle player-who never actually plays schtick. What a career. His dollars per point scored has to be off the charts.
Brian Cardinal gets the start in place of injured Dirk Nowitzki tonight against the Spurs? Really coach? Really??? That is a cardinal mistake! (pun obviously intended)
I just noticed that Billups and Afflalo scored 53 points on 26 FGA yesterday. Efficiency. 8-12 from 3-point range and 15-17 from the FT line. Also, 8 rebounds, dished out 9 assists, and combined for 4 steals. All with Melo out. By the way, Ty Lawson seems pretty good. He's making $1.5M this year. They have him locked up through 2013 and he'll be a restricted FA after that. Career .390 3-point shooter. .588 TS% overall in his career. 16 points and 6 assists per 36 minutes this year. I don't suppose they'd take TMac ($1.4M) and Terrico White for him...
Nah, they know he is their PG of the future. We could actually probably get Billups back if we wanted. He only has one year left on his contract which is a team option. Maybe we could do a sign and trade of Prince (Melo insurance) and Maxiell for Billups. Funny thought.
Just want to give a shout out to Carlos Arroyo. Great to see him in a winning situation. Surrounded by great talent - and fans who adore and appreciate him.
Why doesn't Stuckey get a chance like that? He just needs to be surrounded by players that highlight his strengths.
