Problem was, and this problem has been adressed by now, was that you never knew what flip jr, lindsey or blalock were going to do. Delfino and Dice were solid, but a lot of this solidness depended on how beforementioned ballhandlers did their job.

Flip has allowed afflalo and stuckey to play through theri mistakes cuz they are young and learning, so you can hope they will "delete" their bad habits. But flip jr and LH are vets: mistakes allowed to rookies shouldn't be allowed to vets. That's why inconsistent mins for bench last year.

I have tried to offer more rationalized explanations why Flip does this or that cuz all those emotional bashings are...stupid.

Yes. It's great to see fans so passionate, but not so irrational at times.

Implicit in this is the idea that Flip is rational, and that emotion does not play a strong role in NBA coaching. I'm not sure either is warranted.

Stupid? Stupid is as stupid does. We're the ones paying to watch a children's game.

NO. Hayes keeps his mouth shut and gives us some games of playing well, some not so well. Delfino whined and cried and couldn't play inside his team's system. Good riddance!

Are you posting on the Toronto board about how well their coach is using Delfino?

    Jerry Chokehouse comes through again.

2-9 FG, 3 PF in 29 minutes starting.

    Avery Johnson isn't rational.

Grant Hill had 5 pts and 7 rbs in 28 minutes. Not what one would've expected.

I don't think I need any guesses when it comes to Grant Hill. He should've come to Detroit and limited his time. His body just can't take all that playing.

    1. G Hill - coming off the bench for the Suns. I thought he chose to play for the Suns last year was due to the fact he would be a starter. But the Suns still did not impress me with the win over the aging Spurs esp they are without the Argentines who are supposed to be their first 2 guys off the bench (Manu & Oberto)

    2. Darko - LOL!!! He will be probably a bigger bust than Kwame. Marc Gasol played a decent 'rookie 1st game' for a Euro player (double double). Even the real rookie (Darrell Arthur) played a better game than Darko (double double & more minutes)

    3. Big Ben - really feel sorry for him. 19 minutes with only 4 rebounds. If he really has back problems, maybe he should stop lifting weight for a while.

    4. Mo Evans & Flip - They finally found a home in the ATL. Mo played 42 minutes (hello???) and Flip played 23 decent minutes. Most importantly, they did surprised the D Ho's Magic.

I know it's only been one game but Arvis Hayes seems to be experiencing the renaissance that all ex-Pistons go through after leaving the team.

    His first game in Jersey:

    14 pts, 6 for 9 shooting (2 for 3 triples), 2 assists, 1 block, 5 boards, 3 steals

...did he have 3 steals last SEASON?

Jarvis had 47 steals total last season. I can't find last season's game logs for the moment, but I recall that he had some good steal numbers really early in last season as well, leading me to think that he might be a consistent contributor on defense, although it didn't exactly work out that way.

I'd have to look it up but I remember a stretch right around December when Jarvis went like for like 10 games without an assist. I remember thinking that we might have to remove the "A" from his name as well making him affectionately known as "Rvis".

47 steals??? ...He HAD to be paying off the stat guy.
I don't remember seeing Hayes involved in 47 defensive plays last year.

Seems like Mo Evans & Flip Murray are flourishing at the ATL. This team seems to fit the both of them. They finally found a 'home'.

ATL is 3-0, who would have thought that? Beat the Hornets who were one of the hottest team at New Orleans.

Everyboby here knew Flip could score. And Mo just needed game practice.
You don't get to be a JD era Piston just because you're in the league, you need to be good.

agreed, and look at what happens when the 12 and 13th man on the bench last week get to play.... they all have talent just need a coach to find spots for them to show it
