Falcs come to town looking to earn home field advantage throught-out the P/Os !
They just killed a demon last week beating the Gmen with a shut out ! I thought they made a huge mistake overspending for JJones [draft picks] but they picked up ASamuels from the Eagles, got his salary down to $6M per from $9M and they have been playing smart ball all year.

For many seasons going back to the '70s we owned these guys. So did everyone else. But then they made it to a SuperBowl and haven't slacked off since.
We could get a 3 or 4 pick if we lose to them.

Didn't wanna start a new thread for this. Lomas Brown comes clean on letting Scott Mitchell get drilled :pound:

It's a long read, but it's worth it. Great stuff from Jon Kitna.

[pf.com won't allow me to post this link since the url has quotes in it]

So far at the half...all Falcons as they score off two Lions TO's .... Megatron getting his yards, but not enough to convert to Lions TD's Lions down 21-6

    A season of letdowns............
Stafford leads the league with 4,695 yards and may pass 5,000 yards again....but
His passer rating of 79.6 ranks him 23rd in the league. Only 17 TDs with 16 INTs doesn't help.
Calvin Johnson leads the league with 1,892 yards.........averaging 126 yards per game.
His 5 TDs ranks him 23rd in the league amongst WRs......
Mikel Leshoure gained 741 yards and scored 9 TDs..... But a paltry 3.7 yards per carry doesn't help.
With only 6 players up in the box (defense) Mikel shoulda gotten over 1,000 yards easily.
Lions' offense is 2nd in the league for yards gained per game.......
But only 15th in the league scoring per game.
Team leads the NFL in dropped passes. Also 3rd most penalty yards on offense in the NFL.
Lions' defense ranks a surprising 12th in yards surrendered. But 29th in POINTS surrendered....
The defense is only 18th in sacks......Where's the magnificent D-Line..........Where's Suh????? 32 sacks this season........
Remember the Silver Rush (Purifoy, Baker, English, Gay) recorded 66 sacks one season..........Led the NFL !!!

The numbers show talent.........a playoff team, but an undiciplined team who fails to put away opponents.
A team who fails to eliminate costly mistakes. A team who lacks player leadership.
I'd first trade N. Suh for a starter on the O-line or a complementary WR to go with Megatron.

    Both coordinators should stay.
Head coach changes overall team dicipline/aura/temperment..........or he's out the door after next season.
He's proving to be a knucklehead...................

I read that not only did Megatron set a number of records yesterday, but Stafford set one too, becoming the first QB in the NFL history to pass for over 440 yards in a game (443) and not throw a TD pass.

As far as coaching...I am thinking that the coordinators need to go too, as the play calling and the defense on both sides has been suspect. You can't have this much talent on the field and the players are dropping passes, running short routes and then getting beaten on special teams miscues. Why did Logan take a knee last night:confused:.

Something needs to change. This team should be, at worst, a .500 team with the talent on the roster. I would guess that Schwartz will be back. I'm not sure what the answer is....

I've never liked Logan. He shoulda been dismissed right after taking the knee.

I saw the offense rank #2 in yards attained.
The defense ranked #12 in yards surrendered.
I think these are good numbers.
The coordinators seem to be doing their jobs.
    Except for special teams !!!!!!!!!!

I pin the blame for the overall lack of dicipline on the head coach.
This includes dropped passes, errant throws, miscues, penalties, and the occasional stomp on an arm.
