My 3rd baseman is a sleeper. I'll give him 2 weeks to wake up.

Haters gotta hate you Flagtailed Catfish...

I had never seen a fantasy baseball roster consisting of 90% guys I never heard of until I looked at yours. Very creative.

I DID however hear of Alex Avilla. I think he is going to be one of the better catchers. I was thinking of using a high pick on him (12th round) but you beat me to the punch by grabbing him in the 9th round. Always take your catchers very very early, as they say. This pick is going to be the Eagles Defense pick of baseball. I'll see if i can make room on my roster.

By the way, How is Ellsbury doing with that hammy?

Since you like to whine...Try a bottle of Ellsbury's wine. 100% proceeds go to charity. :)

Once the guy is officially on the DL from the team, Yahoo will make him eligible for the DL. (I checked and you don't have any yet). But let's say Ellsbury is paced on the DL for the hamstring injury that is bothering him. Yahoo will place a little red "DL"next to his name on your roster. They will also make a "DL" spot position for him only that you can place him on when setting your lineup.

Once he comes off, officially, the very next day you can leave him there forever (thereby keeping the extra player), but you must take him off if you go to make ANY changes to your lineup...player adds, drops, or setting the lineup....therefore dropping the extra player. So you can't manipulate the system.

I hope Ellsbury gets healthy again really soon. That sucks.

Darth..........glad to see that you're making adjustments to your lineup already.
It must be a relief to be able to pick up the players that you need.
I just figured that you'd hold on to the players that you already drafted.
Speaking of holds, I'm glad that you finally added some to your lineup.

One of your relievers looks like a diamond in the rough..............
The other looks like a golf ball in the rough.............

Also looked at your projected starters. You really went on a limb here.
For your 5 roster starters, they managed 45 wins last year.........that's exciting.
Must have been the injury bug. This year, they're projected to get 88 wins
    ...good luck with that. :)
Here's hoping that your pitchers realize their potential.
I'll send you some bandages if you need them during the year.

BTW........my staff has these numbers....84 wins last year, with 100 projected this year.

    Have a good season Darth............:)

I appreciate the in depth roster analyses of my team. Please keep them coming, although hopefully you don't spend spend too much of your day obsessing over my roster. :work:

BTW, I don't know why, but Yahoo isn't allowing us to use LAST seasons stats for the CURRENT season. Probably an oversight on their part.Or perhaps they too are spending too much time obsessing over my roster? :hmmm: it's nice to know people care.

Although YOU Don't take advice from others because... " I'm not the type of person who asks a lot of questions. I like to learn on the go". (Your statement a few days ago in the fantasy baseball sign up thread), I on the other hand, DO welcome feedback, even from a rookie who should prepare to dine on lots of crow this season. :hungry: :hungry: :hungry: Yum yum.

Then again, we all should already have learned by now how you feel about taking advice from others. You also refused to listen to your teammates input:lalala: during the Picks Game. :)

    Darth....

Eating crow doesn't seem so bad an idea at this restaurant.........looks delicious to me....:)
    Crow Restaurant :: Menus

I really didn't obsess on your roster, I was simply looking at a possible replacement for my team.
That's when I noticed that you had been very busy, so I spent 5 minutes looking at your moves.
Heck....I spend more time eating at the Crow..........

BTW...I always welcome input from fellow teammates at the Picks....Just don't always take the advice.

    Again......Have a semi-good season....Darth....:)

    Hji,

    @ Everyone

There are a couple of teams playing in Japan next week (March 28 & 29?). The games count! Yahoo previously left a note about how the stats will work. However...

I believe that the positions you have used already will be frozen for the following week, of course. IIRC you can still mess with your lineup for the following week , beginning April 2, by the Sunday (April 1) of that previous (Japan) week.

    Bill, can you clarify/confirm???

    ******************************************************************************************************

@ the Rookies (nemo, you can close your eyes so you can learn on the fly)

Also, rooks, during the season, try to see which of your starting pitchers pitch on a Monday or Tuesday. Those guy almost always pitch again five (5) days later which translates to another start on Saturday and Sunday. That mean more potential Wins and Strikeouts. (It's always fun deciding whether or not to leave them in a lineup on daily, as opposed to weekly lineups (like we have), because if you are ahead in ERA and WHIP, you don't want to screw that up by getting greedy. :)

Another thing, as in football, prior to the game that day, Yahoo marks a small "^" next to the players name if he is going to start that day (per the lineup cards submitted by the manager prior to the start of the game), and an "x" if he is not.

On pitchers, the "^" is usually placed by his name 3 or 4 days in advance so you will know if he pitches on Monday or Tuesday (a two start week).

    **********************************************************************************************************

Rain outs...they never happen to your opponent. Just to you. :rain:

They are made up another day. The problem is, when it happens to you, by the time it is made up, your player is injured, traded, or released. :loser: OR, it is made up as a doubleheader and your guy only gets to play one end of it anyhow. :gaah:

    *************************************************************************************************************

This game is REALLY fun when in real life, the hitter you own faces the pitcher you own. OR when your two pitchers face off in real life. Surprisingly, it works out really well, as often as not. :)

    **********************************************************************************************************
    Have fun.

Has Darth ever been commissioner before? How long did it take for the managers to mutiny?

TheeTFD, what did Alejandro De Aza do in the 27 minutes that you owned him to get dropped from your squad?
