If they close him down, is it just until the playoffs or until next season? Sounds like a strange strategy if they close him down for the season. Why not just give him a couple of weeks off or let him throw every 10th game until the PO?

That is a very good point, Mowgli. Maybe it throws the pitcher off somehow. They must have a very good reason because you would think they would do that if they could.

If so, why don't they start him until a month or so into the season? I realize they don't know they will be the no 1 in their division but the upside of having their best pitcher in the PO sounds like it's worth not using him during the first month. I don't know anything about this strategy so I might be missing something.

If I'm not busy.........I can plunk my butt down and quickly check scores........Many times, I just don't get to it though.
You did put Laimbeer, Nemo, and Baseball Time as I did into the playoffs.............Hopefully, we're both correct.
Seems to me like any of the top 9 teams could make it............I believe I could literally still finish anywhere.
I love my team and think they could win it all. Just up to good or bad fortune right now. and Chris Sale....................:)

Any of Nine teams could realistically win it all. I hope I'm wrong. I hope your team comes crashing back to earth and burns up in the Earth's atmosphere to be honest. I would much rather see round make it into the playoffs.

I based my predictions mainly on where everyone is right now. I think there are some teams that may sit out that are actually better than some of the teams I think may be getting in. When it is as close as it is I think positioning in the standings may have a lot to do with how lucky a person has been in drawing their match ups each week. It sure is a lot of fun though.

The other argument would be if they wait a month before they start pitching, then they might not even make it to the playoffs....not that anyone expected the Gnats to make the playoffs anyway.

My team's .302 BA looks good............Til I realize that all teams are hitting well this week.

My team is currently only 5th best as 6 teams are hitting above .300.

    Interesting...

It's a good thing you are playing jammer this week nemo. You lucky guy.

    Yessir. You are up 7-4.

You would be tied with me 6-6. (I am losing 4-8 by B Ball Team).

You would be losing 5-7 to B Ball Team.

I THINK I compiled the stats correctly (for a change) :)

Pretty big difference, huh? Luck of the draw.

Heck, I'm ok with only being down 7-4 with Stanton out and then losing Bautista to the DL on Monday.

Stinking Yahoo. It probably didn't affect the majority of you, but Yahoo stated they would give us the ability to make six (6) roster moves this week just like in any normal week. I detrimentally relied on this and now my lineup is screwed up for next week. Also, one of the guys I really wanted to pick up got taken.

Why in the hell did they promise to refresh our roster moves and then not follow through???

It looks like the rules stated that we would only get 6 moves for the "Fantasy week" (which was actually 10 days).

Ok. I finally "got it". Duh.

Thanks for the quick response. I've been wondering about that for a couple of days.

Our starters faced off today. Both Cole Hamels and Matt Cain posted a 5.67 ERA.
Coulda really used a lower ERA and a Win from him today..............
