Bezeach has got 6 starters going next week..
He really wants those Strikeouts and Wins.
Last week, when you had 3 starters, I switched to 5.
Chris Sale was my bluff, he's listed as a RP, but he starts.
This guy has got my number........I'm afraid.
I guess when he saw my saves and holds,
he figured he'd only need 2 relievers to take me.

Actually, my team is poised for a big week. I'll probably beat you 8-3.

    nemo,

Sale was perhaps your big bluff in getting more starters out there, but I usually don't even pay any attention to that stuff when setting my lineup. Additionally, I STILL got 4 Wins to match your 4 Wins. So bottom line, My Relievers got me Saves and Holds. Your starters only got you Strikeouts in categories affected by that sort of thing.

Now...if we can move on from last week...and what appears to be your signature win (week 2 is kinda early for one of those), would be so kind as to allow me to focus on Mr. Laimbeer. I need to try and beat him in the heat of summer while Satan is to busy toasting marshmallows (no offense Rascoe) to bargain with him.

It should be highly entertaining when you play bezeach next week and discover that you are arguing with yourself.

nemo just beat me 7-4. Will you ever be able to look at yourself in the mirror if you can't top that???

Ok, that comment piqued my curiosity.

Yep, absolutely correct. I see you've already won 2 pitching categories without a doubt. (Wins and Strikeouts). Five pitchers on the mound by Tuesday. Lucky me. I just wasted two-2 start-pitchers.

If we split the rest of the categories I can minimize damage to a 7-5 loss. Winning 5 games is my goal. That will leave me only 4 games under .500.

I imagine you were very shorthanded on starters the first two weeks of the season? It usually all evens out in the end.

Update: OK. I just checked the batting numbers. This may get really really ugly for my squad.

I scheduled our match for week #3 since I figured you would be getting Bautista in week #4.

No, I've actually got Bautista right now, Curly Joe.. But it won't help me...Uggh. Terrible week to play you. My team is only just now beginning to come around anyhow, I think.

When I looked at your record, I figured there was reason for it and knew I was in trouble. I was thinking...either (A) he has been shorthanded and I'm catching him on the wrong week because you were due to have a lot of guys playing...or (B) what I was hoping for (alas, not to be)...that

B1. you had lots of guys playing those weeks but your opponent had more

    B2. you just sucked, or

B3. you just ran into a hotter opponent.

I"m guessing it was (A). Now my only hope is that it was also B2

So here is my plan for this week and I'm serious:

    1. In order to prevent unnecessary torture, indigestion, and kicking my dog, I plan not to look at our match up until this weekend when I can set my lineup in case of injuries or something. It's tough to do...but I'm going to do my best. That means I can't pick up any players either or look at player updates unless I just have my kid go directly to the players page or I go there and look away from the screen but with one eye peeking to navigate...yes..i am crazy and I've done it before....so we will see if I have any self restraint.

    2. I'm not opening any texts from you. I'll give the phone to my son (when he gets home from school) and have him pre-screen any incoming. If they aren't directly related to our match, I will read them.

My willpower sucks but this is the only way I'm going to survive this week.

    3. I know you will try to circumvent this. So I'm going to avoid this forum too...I can see you or nemo putting the score (real or otherwise) in your signatures or something.

    4. I'm not opening any emails unless they are from Kimmie or a Cannuckian. I don't trust any of the rest of you no good scoundrels. Rascoe or Jummer can reach me if needed.

OK, I am beginning survival mode now. I can live with your 3-8 prediction. Anything worse will bring tears (not really, but I have a flair for drama).

See you this weekend. Hopefully not sooner. (Most likely in 20 minutes).

Ouch...I need to go to the dentist. After last week and anticipating the beat down this week...I've been grinding my teeth!

Hey Bill...I noticed a new team called Drath's Spoilers 2. Don't remember them from the draft. I don't figure they're important since they're down in the standings. Who is the owner? I don't notice anybody important who is missing.. I checked the next 6 weeks and I don't play this team. Oh well........good luck against the new owner.

I think that the fact that there's no consensus "winner" in the trade (some have said I got the better deal, while others have said Darth did better) AND the fact that both of us are happy with the trade, speaks to the fairness of the deal.

It's VERY hard to consumate a deal - especially one involving 3 very highly rated players - that both sides agree on. I've been fortunate enough to have made several trades with Darth over the years.

Now is the time to pick up Inge. With his hit yesterday, that raises his batting average to 0.166.

After 2 days this week.........I've collected 26 hits from 17 batters. Hitting has gone well so far this season.
My team was leading the league with a .300 BA for the first 2 weeks and is at .388 AVE this week so far.

I start 3 pitchers tonight as I try to establish something on the pitching side of the ledger. Hopefully, my guys don't dig a hole, and they win a few.

Wow, Bill. You really have Darth rattled this time. He took a hiatus from the forum. Maybe you should let up on him a little.
