Just get the best players. That seems to be the winning strategy.

Quiet in here. Not quite the fantasy football, huh?

He's doing OK so far. Took me a while to get hang of things. I think my pieces are finally starting to fall in place more or less. Still it's a game of luck. My goalie lost a shutout with 11 seconds left in the game and then lost the game in the shoot out. Go figure.

    HELP !!!

How do I put a player on the IR!!

Semin has just gone on the IR, and I would like to add someone in his place, but I don't know how. I don't want to dump him from my squad.

    How about some help. Commissioner???

Go to the edit lineup screen, and drag him into the IR position. That's how it works in the new Yahoo system. IR is below BN.

I've heard that sometimes it doesn't work in drag & drop mode, but that you have to go to the classic style to put a dude on IR.

Not sure if that's what you mean.

The league looks like it will be super competitive. Well balanced teams. I've made a few moves but it's basically dropping and picking up the guys I originally had.

Jammer, hats off to you. You're kicking my butt, although I do feel like the other team has been on a power play the last two weeks. Tampa has only played 5 games so far...serves me right for stacking with one team. My goalies are actually playing worse than YOURS. That's bad dude. lol.

I'll be there in the playoffs though. Mark my words.

That's what I had to do. It was frustrating because I would drag a guy to the IR, hit submit and it seemed to work. Then, when I went back to my team, the guy was still on the bench.

It has been pretty competitive so far. Most of the games were decided on the last 1-2 days. That's fun. And I'm still learning.

I was just confirming that what Darth said was actually true for a change.

Did you check your roster for the next day? (go forward 1 day as if setting your roster). That happened to me in another league I was in. I thought it hadn't worked, but then I checked the next day and the player was on IR and it said that I had 1 free roster spot. That was using the drag and drop feature.

Hey, if my goalies play this "bad" all season, I'll be happy.

My 3 goalies stats so far this season:
    Wins - 4, 3, 3
    GAA - 1.17, 2.18, 2.18
    SV% - .935, .924, .918

Not tops in the league, but pretty darn close.

That's what you get for stealing BOTH Fleury and Turco from me. Heck, you can keep them and their lousy stats. :gun1:

Jammer, good use of your waiver today. I had a claim in on Langkow, too, but yours was obviously higher.

    Agreed.

I told Jammer in a pm this morning that he was a great pickup. I was too loaded at Center with 5, and he was nothing but a curse for me even though he was performing well. (He sucked when I would play him and do great on my bench...and whoever I would sit in his place would have a great day). Just superstition, but he was an albatross for my team.

I could have traded him...but was too lazy. LOL.

I think what I'm going to do is have fun with the Lightning guys as long as I can stay in playoff contention, and then do my thing later to try and win the ship...

Tater if you have a good defenseman to spare (assists, +/-) I might put Brad Richards on the block.

Thanks. But the LAST thing I need is another Center, particularly on Tampa..

As it is, I only picked up Prospal because he's on Tampa AND he actually has been playing Left Wing. I picked him up in anticipation of him gaining dual eligibility from Yahoo.

I really don't have any good defenseman, anyhow. All I have is Boyle (hurt, but on Tampa) and two other guys who are mediocre but also on Tampa.

You must be talking about Mccabe.

Nice grab of Leclaire, Roscoe. :)
I was thinking about it...but for some reason, I'm kinda...I dunno...

I grabbed Leclaire before and he lost the game and gave up a bunch of goals. And I got a win out of Ozzie and Legace. This is a crapshoot. ;)

    It can be at times.
But believe me, there is an art to playing the free agent market. :)
If it's like last year in hockey, there were good players available for all but a couple of months (I think it dried up finally in the last couple of months). It seems to me that in hockey, there are more good guys available for longer than in the other fantasy sports.
