I thought Mike Woodsen over at the Hawks was going to get the axe first. I guess Jerry West keeps things close to his vest so not to wring out the drama. So as much as I'm not in love with the Flipper I think he's a better coach than the Czar. The Grizzlies are a bunch of underachievers in my book and they don't have a player on their team that I really covet. The buzzards will be circling though because they have to make some changes. It looks like the Clippers will be having a fire sale soon with all of the wheelin' and dealing they are trying to do. So maybe Fratello will end up over there and whip those boys into shape.

memphis' backcourt sucks. thats where they really need changes. i haven't heard anything but they are a team who could really target CB. eddie jones' monstrous contract comes off the books at seasons end. they should be one of the bigger players in FA if their management get themselves together.

things i would do if i were memphis:

jones - contract expiring - gone
atkins - contract expiring - gone
tsakalidis - contract expiring - gone

    trade if possible
    swift (1 year left)
    stoudamire (1 year left)
    cardinal (2 years left)

it may not be possible for them to get rid of all those guards, but none are really worth hanging onto. they will have a great draft pick for a big man, possibly Oden.
    So a front court of
    C- Oden
    PF- Gasol
    SF- Miller

with Warrick, Johnson and Gay coming off the bench has their front court set up nicely. pick up someone like CB... and another SG (or swing miller to SG)... definitely a contender.

I drove from Indiana to Connecticut today. I spotted what looked to be Fratello's rug scurrying across the highway, with a stick in its mouth.

He's a good coach. They'll do even worse now.

I hope Collangelo picks him up for Toronto. If he did Pau Gasol, he'd do wonders with Bargnani.
