Is he the next Mo or is Delfino on his way out? Not sure what to make of this move.

I realize Joe didn't have much money to work with, but talk about uninspired. Basically once Ben left, Joe took whoever was still left on the block. And that's how we got Flip Saunders too. Only head coach left at the time. This is not forward-leaning GMing.

I watched Flip Murray play for Seattle. Backup for Chauncey? Give me a break. He'll just take minutes from guys we need to develop, and be a contributing factor in the "jumpshot first" mentality.

As long as we play the Washington Generals every night we should be fine. We just added Meadowlark to the team.

I'm looking forward to the buckets full of confetti. Man that's always good stuff.

I say bring back the short shorts and give Hooper some muttonchop sideburns because this team doesn't resemble the teal era. No, by next year this team will look like the 1970's Cobo era.

A friend of mine from Seattle called and said Flip Murray is ok. His exact words were, "He's like a blind Ray Allen".

I think I would be more excited if we traded for Damon Jones.

    ROFLMAO   :pound:

The really wierd thing is that's kind of an accurate take. No court vision. Or what we call Basketball IQ.

    LOL

I'd rather see us trade for Ray Charles. He shoots a little less well than Flip, but every night the National Anthem would be worth the price of admission.

Hahaha, yeah or Ray Ramano. Atleast he would keep the bench guys entertained while their not playing - which of course would be all the time.

I worried that they might get him. We all saw what he did in the playoffs. Enough said. What is going on with this team since the all-star break?

Maybe we should all turn off our computers this summer. But I guess everything is good.....

What happened to piston DNA?... doesn't share the ball and poor defense...
I guess we have to remember this is a backup position... Acker's gotta be bummin'...
I've never viewed Flip as a PG
IMO he gives us nothing that Acker doesn't possess.

That must have been part of the old NBA. We are on the new NBA now.

Acker would have been nice to see. I sometimes wonder why they even bother participating in the SL. The guys there never get any PT.

After reading all of the posts in this thread it is obvious, even to me, that Flip Murray is no perfect fit for the Pistons. Makes me wonder, if all of you see this, Joe Dumars has to see that as well, or doesn't he?

Or is he just setting up a trade package to get some better player?

I can't remember the last time I was so disappointed with Pistons management.

That would have to be the Dennis Rodman for Bill Curley trade.

...with a close 2nd going to the Lindsey Hunter for Billy Owens deal.

To celebrate our new mediocrity, I'm going to head right over to DetNews and place one more vote in the column for "We'll make the NBA Finals sans Ben"

I guess I am the lone soldier who believes that Flip Murray will be a positive contributer off the bench. He is a shooting guard not Point guard.

The part that I have difficulty with is I really wanted to see Acker get some playing time.

Flip is still a young cat, I will go out on a limb and say, I think he will do well in Detroit. I am problably going to get blasted by the forum faithful, but I have to put that out there.

I felt from the very beginning that Joe D was going to pursue him. Not neccessarily based on what he has done thus far, but because he was had to make it in the NBA on his own merits and through back doors.

Secondly, the Pistons were again being cheap, that like taking the risks and see what type of returns they will get.

Let's revisit this post mid season.
