Brain fart here... I'm not sure if we retain Acker's rights (if he goes overseas) now that he's played in the league.

Murray doesn't have much trade value but Rip? Eminently tradeable.

Again, those comments were made quite some time ago. Who knows what people think of him now. Not that much, I think, or he gets more interest and more than 1.5 million.

Sorry, but I can't get excited about Flip Murray especially if we lose Acker over the signing. Hopefully, he's the "stud" that excited these coaches a couple years ago. (Although my take is that they only said he is a hard working coachable guy. That's great, but what about his talent level and productivity?) Didn't we hear the same stuff about Mo Evans before he came here?

Exactly, I still like the idea of Tay at SG... what a mismatch that would be.
Harrington & their protected 1st rounder for Rip.

Tay isn't very good at SG though. Lack of speed and an inability to penetrate.

I could see Rip and Dale Davis being traded for someone big. That would leave room for Acker, and we would get someone big. Unfortuantely, there are not many good big players.

Darko, Shaq and Yao Ming. That's about it.

lol, I hope it never sounded like I was trying to pass him off as a "stud", I was just throwing out some links to give an idea of what his mindset and work ethic as a basketball player was all about.

Mo Evans was never touted as a scorer when he was signed. He was supposed to be our "defensive stopper"...hopefully Murray will be a better scorer than Evans was a stopper. :frusty:

I think Tay's handles are better than Rips and he could easily back down 90% of the SG's
Tay was often the guy called on to slow down teams best SG's (Kobe, Tmac, Allen etc)... I will agree that he lacks Rip's foot speed but his length often causes problems for opponents (exception being Wade)...
Tay wouldn't have to worry about being overpowered by physical SFs (Artest, Bron, Jefferson etc).
Also believe that Tay would shoot 52+ % at SG.

It's a good debate... will consider opposing viewpoints.

I'd do Rip and Dale for Al Harrington no matter where Prince ended up playing.
