The match ups when given present numerous situations for when certain
players promote themselves well, we'll see a chance to sample their strengths against those players and examine the consequences of making such a substitution, in a game time scenario

This quote needs no translation. Just appreciate the man that is Flip Saunder's; coach, magician, poet . . .

What about the rapids and then the waterfall where last year's tour fell to their death?

Translation: "Minutes wise, we've really been demanding a lot from our bench here toward the end of the season. I plan on resting them HEAVILY in the playoffs so they can be ready to make a SIGNIFICANT contribution in the Las Vegas summer league!"

Weird quote. It seems to acknowledge that the starters have been getting off to a slow start and so he put the young guys in to whip them into shape. Seems so unlike the picture we paint of Flip.

We wanted to mix the young guys in with the starters and keep the energy level up," Saunders said. That makes sence, let the Zoo bob and dump and run around.
"We didn't want to get off to a slow start again{[meaning the starters were sleep walking and digging a hole the Zoo couldn't dig out.[} and put the kids under a lot of pressure."
......So he was looking out for the Zoo...
He knew what has going on? He saw the big picture? WOW!

    :)

"They just have to fire me. I feel like we were shooting the ball. I can't coach. They just have to fire me on Wednesday."

Mo Cheeks stuck to an unusual strategy... tempt Sheed to take a lot of shots by only putting 1 man on him. Guard everyone else. His coaching strategy worked, and it was reminiscent of LB's strategy against the Lakers in '04. Sheed had a nice game, but it wasn't the most efficient.

If you look at the splits this year, we win games when Sheed is efficient, not when he scores a lot. He averages more points in losses than in wins. However, his FG% is higher in wins.

All future quotes from Flip can just be translated to - "I'm an idiot."

I miss the days when we had strategy. Hey, LB does work for the Sixers. Maybe he's helping MO w/ the game plan. :stirthepot:

I think it harkens back to the G.I. Joe send off, "Now you know. And knowing is half the battle."
