I don't really have a huge issue with Frank. He is not Popovich, but what do you expect.

I thought you said he has been the assistant for a long time and no one will give him a shot? But now you worry someone is going to quickly snatch him up mid-season?

Doesn't Gores or Dennis Mannion (? - The Palace Guy) have to notice at some point that the one guy who the crowd responds to is only played for 20 minutes a night as a backup C?

Popovich is going to retire right before the playoffs so the Spurs have to hire him.

I don't have a problem with Busta. I question some things that Frank does, but I can't imagine a coach where I wouldn't. Overall, I trust that he's mechanically sound.

I'm not sure why people assume that Frank is incompetent or has an agenda, and don't make (what seems to me) the more natural assumption that Drummond can't handle more playing time.

I don't really know why he doesn't play more, but if I had to come up with a theory, it would be that he isn't in NBA game shape, or that he hasn't developed the mental focus to play more minutes.

I can buy off on the concept of having Monroe and/or Drummond on the court at all times. For that to work, you have to start one of them (probably Monroe) and then play them together for a long while, and then let the other hold court while the other rests, etc.

Drum's minutes are steadily rising and we virtually have 0 minutes naked out there without either of them. So, we are very close to optimizing, just need bigger crossover minutes where they share the floor. It's going to produce some growing pains if the coach can't tailor a scheme for them on offense.

Frank is so incompetent that he's failing at his agenda of not winning any games.

    1) I'd love to see the Frank replaced by Budenholzer tomorrow. But I'm talking more along the lines of the off-season..

    2) Not "hating" Frank, or him not being "terrible," are not reasons to keep him. What's happened to our standards since Carlisle / Brown??

Article says that JJ doesn't know why he isn't playing more.
That's bad coaching to me. 9-4 means nothing to me. 16-25 is where we're at.
Let's see if he makes the playoffs. They're only like 5 games out of the 8 spot.
    Then....let's judge him............:6shoot: :hanged2:

The Pistons can't afford to fire "more" head coach.

This should make all the "fans" happy. Fire Franks and install a computer as the head coach.... with online polls to decide all coaching decisions in real time.

    /end sarcasm

Do I think Frank is the coach that will win a championship in Detroit.... probably not, but do I think he's doing a good job installing a base for the future... Yep.

Is there any other starter than Jerebko during the Frank era who lost his starting position without filing a formal letter of enquiry? That's hard to believe when the team started 1-17 and 2-18 or something similar.

I think Frank thinks Singler is Jerebko.

Right. Noone's been able to coax Budenholzer out of being Popovich's heir apparent (my speculation), but it's totally realistic that the longshot Eastern Conference 8-seed is going to steal the lead assistant away from the best-run organization in the NBA and possibly in pro sports.
