Until I get the salary listing complete at the top of the forum, amongst other projects, here are some ideas and links.

We can gather that the max that Stuckey and Afflalo will make in the first year of their contracts will be $1,308,000 and $787,100 respectively. Normally teams pay their first rounders the max possible.

Sammy Mejia and Cheikh Samb (should he sign this year) would be looking at a minimum contract deal, starting at $427,163.

Chauncey Billups "max" deal would start at $17,437,000 with 10.5% raises over the previous year. This is the MAX we could pay him.

    Year 1 - $17,437,000.00
    Year 2 - $19,267,885.00
    Year 3 - $21,291,012.93
    Year 4 - $23,526,569.28
    Year 5 - $25,996,859.06
    Year 6 - $28,726,529.26

    Total - $136,245,855.52

We must tender a qualifying offer of $999,947.20 to Alex Acker to retain his rights. That had to be done by June 30. As usual, our local beat writers are asleep at the wheel, or we would know if that happened.

We can re-sign Chris Webber to a contract starting at no less than $1,219,590, but we can raise the start point to $1,463,508 without touching the Mid Level Exception. Under that circumstance, the best deal Webber could sign is 5 years with 8% raises between years.

We do have the Mid-Level Exception (approx. $5.6 million) to shop for Free Agents. We do not have the Bi-Annual Exception (or LLE) as we spent it last year on Flip Murray and it can only be used once every two years.

If you have questions, please post them.

I have added rough updates for next season to the salary listings.

    http://www.pistonsforum.com/view-pistonssalaries.html

I had to guess on Billups' contract, so those #s could change a bit yet. They are fairly accurate to the media reports and collective bargaining agreement.

Also, I gave Stuckey and Afflalo 120% of the rookie scale amounts for this season as that is normal for teams to do. Rookie scale contracts can be for 80% up to 120% of the scale amount. I went high to show the least amount of available salary (trying to keep it real).

Assuming Amir Johnson re-signs, we will have 2 empty roster spots. That makes it very possible that at least one of Samb/Mejia gets a job this year. It does however mean that adding Acker, Samb and Mejia is impossible without trading a player away.

It is had for me to believe that right now Nazir has the 3rd largest salary for 2010. That is simply amazing. His signing was worse than drafting Darko.

Joe D. needs to find a way to get rid of him and his salary. What an albatross.

    :hoops:

Yeah, but if you think about it, that salary is still going to be around the league average as the payroll keep inflating.

If we can get 40 starts and an average of 20 mins out of him, it's not that bad a deal.
