I have usually been pretty neutral about Stuckey. I think he has the ability to be a really great player (not an all star), and the $8 million was not ludicrous from where I stood. But the more I think about it, between him and Prince, $16 million a year is tied up in 28 points and 8 rebounds a game. And it is not particularly efficient scoring either. Now there are some leadership qualities to Tay, but he is a quiet reserved guy. BK, English & Moose will be far better leaders in my mind. C-Lee is a perfect example of this. He isn't as efficient as Stuck, nor does he score as much. But he is a great defensive 2 and he can shoot the 3 ball. Let me repeat, he will not attempt to back down a defender from halfway for a contested fadeaway, but take a shot and hit them at a 40% clip (last year).
On the subject of Courtney Lee, Vincent Goodwill tweeted that he and LFrank were chatting during the game today. Not that it necessarily means anything, but hey.
Honest opinion discounting salaries- No I wouldn't. Why - If Maxiell picks up the player option we don't really need another PF. As in I wouldn't get rid of a semi good SG to pick up a defensive PF. And thats really the kicker. I would swap out Tay for Tony Allen, as a like for like swap for the extra defensive effort (as in enourmous difference) but I wouldn't swap Stuck for Taj. A person like I would really like to look at is JJ Redick

I'm trying to figure out your angle here TaS. This has to be a trick question but I'm gonna bite anyway. My answer: not yes, ... it's HELL yes!!! Tony Allen carries a wallet identical to the one Samuel L. Jackson carried in Pulp Fiction. He's one of the best defensive guards in the association and a guy who would instantly improve the team as a whole. Taj Gibson is a better fit for the Pistons at this point due to his position, age and the role that he'd fill. Both of these guys are playing on expired deals and cost about 1/3 of what Stuckey and Prince are making. We couldn't really trade for these guys due to the fact that Stuckey & Prince are so overpaid. But to magically have Gibson and Allen appear in place of Tay and Stuck? ...absolutely. If the salaries and contracts were all the same, I might STILL do it. Rodney and Tay have better stats on the surface but the "PER" numbers are all pretty even.

The Rockets are back in the Dwight Howard(or Andrew Bynum) trade talks. Why does it seem like Houston can totally switch up their plans and shoot for the stars on a moments notice? The Pistons would still be reeling from the Yao Ming (let alone T-Mac) injury. Orlando Magic exploring other Dwight Howard trades, source says - ESPN
Nets get tired of running after Howard and sign Lopez to a big deal (4 year $61M). Nets reach deal with Brook Lopez; pursuit of Dwight Howard effectively ends - Yahoo! Sports
Brook Lopez is in NO WAY a max-contract player but if he can... a. remember how to get rebounds. b. block shots at an an average rate for a center. c. stay healthy ...The Nets will be a helluva team. If they re-sign Hump, that's a pretty impressive staring five that they got. (Lopez, Kardashian, Wallace, Johnson, D-Will).
No idea what Houston is doing. Their GM is gonna look either extremely smart or extremely dumb. He looks like a schizophrenic fantasy GM. 1. He had two nice young PG's in Lowry and Dragic and keeps neither! 2. They drafted 2 PF's to give them more PF's than we have SF's. 3. Gives away Camby and Dalembert for a bunch of scrubs 4. Overpays Lin and Asik, yet is likely to miss out on both I really don't get it.
They just amnestied Scola. He is going for Howard, no doubts about it. PF's are trade pieces to help replace Ryan Anderson
Sure, but who is gonna play with him? And that still doesn't explain why they ditched both their starting calibre PG's...
I've read that the Magic are insisting that all of their bad contracts (J-Rich, Turkey Glue, etc.) are a package deal for any team that wants D-Ho. ...so basically, the Houston Rockets are going to essentially become the Orlando Magic. They're going to be a mediocre team with a superstar Center and no financial ability to build around him. Howard will leave next year and the Houston will be stuck with a bunch of cap killing contracts, no draft picks and no big man to show for it. ...ouch
Wow. I can't believe that they couldn't find a taker in a trade for Luis Scola (3 years, $21 mm). ...at an average of $7 mil per year, he's a freaking bargain and a decent piece for a team needing a PF. I have to imagine that teams will be tripping over themselves to bid on him when he's cut loose.
Was just an update man. I have no idea what their plan is, besides going for Howard. Do I think they should. No, especially not if they are going to be stuck with a bunch of horrific contracts. May as well just wait it out for FA.
