Since only teams under the salary cap are allowed to bid on amnestied players, it creates a very shallow bidders market. Seems like a previously hidden benefit to being under the cap... i.e. you get to pick up players like Brand for $1.6M/year.

And historically you'd never ever consider that Dallas would be one of those teams...

Looks like the Clippers are about to reunite Chauncey and Darko.

Yeah the Clips signed Grant Hill earlier today and they are looking at adding Darko too as the back up center to DJ

    Starters
    CP3
    Billups (when ready)
    Butler
    Griffin
    DeAndre

    Bench
    Bledsoe
    Crawford
    GHill
    Lamar Kadashian
    Darko possible or Ryan Hollins

Now all they need is a new coach and they challenge the Lakers for the best record in the Staples Center next season...

Lakers signed Jamison and are still trying to get Dhoward

I haven't heard anything either. I think this is it for the Pistons this year. Not sure if I'm ok with Knight, Stuckey, Bynum and English. But I'm ok with them for now. Maybe they will really come together this year.

As linwood stated, the Pistons are likely done.
The only thing that we might see is Joe making an attempt to ship-out a few of the extra SFs that he has for some draft picks. He won't be signing any FAs.

Joe actually has some ability to make some deals for the first time in a while.
Prince, Maxiel, Stuckey, Bynum, Jerebko and Daye are all somewhat tradeable if the right deal came along.
We are stuck with Bucket of Turd.

After seeing the Gordon trade go through, anything is possible.

I don't think that is the GM, I think it is the owner who agrees to pay them and the corresponding penalties.

The Clippers were able to sign GHill, Lamar KarOdom and Jamal Crawford without a GM as Vinny Del Negro handled it...now if only Vinny can find/sign them a new coach:biggrin:

This guy might end up with a ring for each finger. How about them apples, Melo?

It has been crickets. Can't we help send Howard to the Lakers by unloading Charlie V. ?? All these other teams are wheeling and dealing and the Pistons are not even rumored to be in on any deals.

Would we be dumping a salary or getting a player or draft pick out of it?

In any such deal, Orlando is the one that'll be looking for all the draft picks & salary dumps. The only way I see us getting involved in a big blockbuster like that AND dump PoT is if we:

    - send 1st rounders Orlando's way
    - and/or take back a worse contract like Hedo

I'd much rather sit out that train wreck. Lakers will be the only winners in that sort of trade.

Me thinks that whooshing sound you hear is the Rockets getting hosed by the Knicks. The Rockets bought into this Lin hype and the Knicks saying they would match their offer up to a billion dollars. Didn't happen.

Would be interesting if Darko went to the Heat and they had the #1, 2, 4, and 5 draft picks from 2003 on the same roster.
