spending our cap now is fine to get solid players...we didnt have superstars when we started a great run and won a championship so who says we need any now?

take two solid players this year for sure, or pray for the miracle that we land a player next year when Teams can sign there own players to more (in sign and trades or just straight up) and end up with nothing....

I like how Joe is playing his hand.. Stars are going to stay put (using open market to drive there price up) mid level stars are going to be overpayed (teams have cap space and after losing out on the stars there not going to want to go empty handed....)

This is why Joe did what he did. No reason to overpay or end up with nothing next year.

These contracts are going to look like gold next year. With so many teams with cap space and so many "stars" the pricing is going to go out the closet as fan bases demand something in 2010. My prediction is that most of the big names stay meaning next years Gordon and CV will be making ridiculous bank.

Christ, I'm just happy we did something.

Joe moved swiftly as opposed to tentatively, right off the bat.

Re: ESPN Reports Gordon AND Villanueva sign

I can't find it on either the NBA transaction listing or the Pistons transaction listing.

He needs to squeeze another one in...the current signings aren't enough. To bad we don't have enough Left over to sign Ariza or Sideshow, but Leon Powe could be had for a couple of mill once all is said done. The C's have decided to pass on resigning him due to the knees.

Otherwise it will be trying to convince Dyess to play another year here with no chance of a ring.
