    Umm . . .

New Piston Ben Gordon ready to challenge Richard Hamilton for starting spot - Detroit Pistons Basketball: News, Blogs, Photos, Audio, Schedule & Stats - MLive.com

Also in the DETNEWS Mcoskety mentions how thus far Joe is not inclined to trade Rip or Tay. I'm crossing my fingers if they both stay this works. I don't want to see AI the sequel. The first one sucked enough.

sounds good... for what he's being paid i'd be saddened if he was happy to be a bench player. I want everyone of our 15 players to want to start, its how they act when there coming off the bench that makes the difference...

we have seen how Rip and AI acted when benched... babyish at best, and we have seen how effective Gordon has been off the bench.

I like Gordon now more then I did this time last summer, but I will admit that I'm a homer and will try to see the glass half full.

With our 25 SFs and Gordon, I doubt Hamilton or Tay will be starting for us in 2010. And with their salaries, I doubt they will be coming off the bench either.

Good to see Gordon is ready to compete. That is how it should work. Best player plays. Forcing Stuckey into the lineup last year was a major mistake. He clearly was not one of our top two guards. He didn't deserve the job.

In the old days, Pistons would have fist fights in practice because they were competing so hard. It would be nice to see some of that passion again, although I suspect Hamilton will display a sense of entitlement again if push comes to shove.

We also had a coach who would have noticed. Hopefully we have that again this year.

I'd like to see a few more SG's signed to really ramp up the competition in practice.

    LOL.

Rip and Gordon at the same time would be the shot-happiest, crappiest dribbling backcourt in the history of the league.

Yeah, but both of them running around a gabzillion screens will justify Tay palming the ball for 18 seconds.

could JoeD please move RIP? Rip and Gordon on the same team is absolutely nonsense and I hope all this talk about keeping RIP isn't real. Does JoeD really want to repeat the AI fiasco that much??

I've always enjoyed the gags from the Light side. For example, here's one from The Lighter Side of Dating:
