i think you guys are missing the very real possibility that joe trades tayshaun and moves rip to the 3 spot while afflalo backs up both the 2 and 3. or what if you trade tay for camby + thornton?

Al Thornton is great, I'd do that. I doubt the clippers would but...they ARE the clippers :)

    Exactly.

    You can't teach height.

    That's wow . . .

    I love Thornton.

I know a lot of Chicago fans who find him a huge liability on the defensive side, and that worry's me a bit. Given those stats, Gordon is not that much better than Rip offensively.

Toronto would never do that, they consider Bosh as a max contract type player.

I dont know...he has said he isnt coming back so they may want to get something for him instead of letting him walk next season...Rip. Max, a future 1st and 2nd could do the trick though possibly and if they would do it so would I!

Low, Joe is definitely NOT 6'4", my son has a picture with Joe. My son is 6'2", depending on the angle, Joe may be less than 1/4 inch taller.

    This was 4 years ago.

When Rip Hamilton played for the Wizards, he played absolutely, NO defense.

That was the knock on him from the beginning, Jordan traded him for his lack of defense.

I am convinced that you can coach up defense.

    What about this plan?

    Don't sign anybody.

    Roll with this crew...

    Stuckey/Bynum
    Rip/ Afflalo
    Taye/ Daye/ Sharpe/ Summers/ Washington
    Maxiell/ Jerebko
    Kwame/ Plaisted

Go crawl back to Curry and tell him that he's back and that we'll fire him next year instead.

Finish in last place and secure a great shot at a top 3 draft pick heading into next year.

Our $19M in cap space will naturally turn into $24M when Kwame and Bynum fall off the books.

Use the top 3 draft pick to draft a superstar. Use the $24M to sign 1 superstar and 1 borderline all-star.

I thought Zeke was listed at 6'1" and Joe at 6'2"?

    From the Pistons classic intros...

I suggested this model prior to Mike Curry getting the ziggy.

I'm just not that crazy about this years' FA crop.
I AM crazy about next years'!

The 2nd Tier guys next season would be the premier guys this summer.

Re: [RUMOR] - Ric Bucher Reports - Gordon and Villanueva to the Pistons

I've met Joe in person, I KNOW for a fact he's not 6'4", but I do remember at some point in his career, Zeke was listed as 6'1" and Joe was listed at 6'4"...I'll dig up some old info and rotting newspapers to see if I can find this.

ADDED: Here's old location showing Joe at 6'3"...so I know it's possible I remember him being labeled at 6'4"...still looking

    CNN/SI - Joe Dumars

This could have been more of the NBA's time honored practice of manufacturing inches for players (Amir Johnson notwithstanding).

I distinctly remember him being "listed" at 6'4".

Dude was my freaking favorite player and one of the few "sports heros" that I've ever had.

Trust me, to even offer Hamilton and Max for Bosh is just insulting the Raptors.
