More possible small ball?! Maybe keeping Rip?

Not at this price. Gotta believe the source is wrong. Now way we spend the money on a 6th man when we have no big men to clog up the lane for stuckey.

Trade Rip to the Clippers for Kaman. Sign Gooden for the MLE

    Stuckey/Bynum
    Gordon/AA
    Prince/Daye/Jerebko/Summers
    Villanueva/Gooden/Max/
    Kaman/Brown

Kaman is looking like no longer an option. Clippers already traded one of their bigs for a SG.

We're under the cap, we don't have the MLE.

I think we can officially forget about Bosh now. Toronto is not interested in anyone from our squad and we don't have the cap to sign him.

I think Dumars has big hopes for AA. His 15 minutes a game of pesky defense, and acceptable shooting is only going to get more solid if we trade rip. He will be a very serviceable backup as he gets more comfortable with the roll. I was so impressed with his calmness hitting all of those 4th quarter free-throws last year. He is why we can trade Rip now.

They are ages 24 and 26. We just got a lot younger. Now we have some breathing room to build a real solid core.

I'm just going by the statement in the article that says he signed with the understanding that he would come off the bench...

We could have signed Turkoglu for the same kind of money....he would have been a much better option.

Totally good post. AA will not develop as long as Rip is here. No way would I include AA in a trade. (unless it is for somebody who is really jaw-dropping or Shane Battier.

I know Joe is not done yet and there is still speculation out there, but we have other options out there to ponder. We could always move Rip to the 3 and swap Tay for a center...:stirthepot:. naw not enough balls for Stuck, Rip and BG, plus we would be to small.....

I havn't had time to read this whole thread (it's my b-day and i'm sitting in a lounge typing this on my Iphone. I'm obsessed LOL)

I saw the price of the Ben deal and i think i had a mild heartattack. Don't know the CV deal, but read someone saying it's a steal.

I think Ben is coming off the bench and Rip is staying. We just bought ourselves a super expensive 6th man/3 point shooter.

I'm not sure how i feel about this. I hate signing CV in any capacity. And i'm assuming he will start . . . next to Kwame ? I'm going to close my eyes.

I don't think the $$ is that bad for either of these guys. Gordon will be 29-30 when his deal expires. I'm still having a hard time envisioning what the team will actually look like though.

People keep saying we should trade Rip for Chandler or Kaman, but if these teams are looking to dump salary then why would they take Rip for 3/4 years @ 11 something mil per?

Technically we do not know what the Pistons have for cap room. It is unlikely (highly), but there is a chance that they don't have the cap room to sigh these 2 guys.

SMALL BALL BABY! (And power forwards hanging out by the 3 pt line is systematically encouraged!)

Can he play like this in every game? If so, can I sign up for the CV fan club?
